This was briefly touched on in the “Forum Name Change” thread, but everyone wanted to talk about the women leaving the forum instead.
I’d love to see the “Over 35 Lifter” forum back on T-Nation. We old guys are cranky, so please hurry up!

The “Over-35 Lifter” forum was blended into the newly renamed “Bodybuilding” forum. You should still be able to find all posts from the forum there.

It seems perfectly logical to have separate forums for these two groups of people. I know all the old posts were not lost but rather lumped in together but, again, why?
TC or Mr. Patterson would be better able to answer this. I’ll bring this thread to their attention.

More on my last post: I don’t care as much for the “blending” cuz, frankly, I don’t want to have to wade through the beginner’s threads and the old farts discussing HRT (I know. I know. I’M AN OLD FART or close anyway). I liked being able to go right to the meat and potatoes training threads for intermediate and advanced lifters.
And no, you can’t necessarily tell what’s going on in a thread by its title.
I’d like to second this. I think the site has lost a little functionality there. Maybe the site was getting too unwieldy, I don’t know. But I liked having a separate forum for us. Maybe we’re next to get shipped out.

A Medical Forum would be a nice addition. To discuss HRT etc.
Agree…two different classifications of lifter. Different goals for sure.

The Over 35 Lifter is the forum for HRT discussions.

i would assume bandwidth requirements forced cut backs as membership has apparantly grown, and the owners of the site decided to focus on it’s target market since it is really a place to sell and advertise products.
it’s target market for the products sold here are probably males between the ages of 16 and 30 or so with the occassional, but unprofitable exception.
the forum discussions are great and can be informative, but i would assume that they only serve the purpose of widening the market avaible to be advertised to.
T-Nation isn’t scrubby on business.
You old farts. As long as we are asking I would like articles written for the over 35 lifter please.
Goddamnit!
I have been waiting for years to post on that forum. Now when I was so close…

You may be correct. I’m sure there are a lot less lifters over 35 than in the 16-30 range.
However, the over 35 lifter may need suppliments MORE than younger lifters for many reasons - including declining testosterone, slowed recovery time and joint injuries. Also, the average 35+ lifter may have more disposable income to spend on suppliments than younger lifters.
Before finding this site, I used no Biotest products. After finding this site (specifically the Over 35 Lifter forum), I give most of suppliment business to Biotest.
I don’t continue to buy their products because of the site - I continue to buy them because they are quality products. However, the Over 35 forum does make me appreciate Biotest all the more.
We were bumped into being a sub-forum, in ‘Bodybuilding’. Will all the others be interested in our discussions about HRT?
After being away for two months I come back to find both The Over 35 Lifter and The Sorority gone!
I feel like Richard Gere in An Officer and a Gentleman. I GOT NOPLACE ELSE TO GO!!!

I would bet that the average 30+ year old T-Nation member outspends the average guy in the 16-30 range on their annual Biotest purchases. I have no data to support this, it’s just a hunch. Besides, I don’t think it’s a bandwidth issue if all of the threads have been moved into the BB section and the ladies’ forums have been eliminated.

I would tend to agree. I don’t think I spent any money on supps till well after college. Meaning in my 30’s. I can’t imagine that’s all that unusual.
Ahhh yes. It seems as if the T-Nation folks may have made a huge mistake with the recent changes. Lets face it, we like coming on here and discussing lifting tips, nutrition, etc but we also liked getting a glimpse at some of the T-Nation ladies. What gives, Hermanos?

In general, specific forums are better than general ones. Do young guys want to wade through a bunch of posts about HRT? I think not. (While not young, I am not old enough to know what HRT stood for; had to Google it.)
I’d also like to see a separate forum for “athletes.” There they could talk about all their nutritional and lifting needs.
