No Money = No Weight Training

As much as I’m a gym rat and hate to admit it, you can look great and get really fucking strong by doing random shit along your day. Seriously, my best friend is broke as fuck and can’t afford a gym membership, so he saves his money and buys heavy-ass kettlebells. By now he’s got (not sure weights are accurate) 30, 50, 70, 90 lbs, having started with just swings on the 30 pounder. Now he does all sorts of shit with them and this guy is so strong and still so lean and light.

It’s impressive, I’d recommend it.

Walking lunges done with srict form and a positive mind-muscle connection can be really good as well, even with just body weight.

While backpacking, I use my bag which is about 50lbs for my “heavy days”

Weighted chins, pushups, dips if you can find something appropriate.

Also would high recommend some lateral movements, Kossak lunges done with a quick step between.

Situps aren’t bat, but don’t forget planks, and rotational work.

Hanging leg raises from the chinup bar, or “around the worlds”

Good luck!

I just wanted to say that I’m new here and found this thread very helpful. I’m starting rollerderby pretty soon, also don’t have a gym membership, and am also trying to figure out how I can get stronger, faster, and more impressive at home.

I’m going to be using a lot of the stuff in this thread. What do you guys think about this guy’s workout? I’m not even sure I can do 1/3rd of the stuff in it. lol

All the best !

It’s bullshit; strength cardio, so to speak. Always pick movements you can’t do for more than 15 reps max.

(says the guy who could easily do 90 press ups before he stopped being skinny)
