NGA Natural Mr California Results

Hey guys & gals. just competed at the natural cal and finished runner-up in the masters class. the previous week i won the npc central valley classic in livermore.

weighed in at 235lbs, goal is to compete around 255 in 2009 and win my natural pro card.

I can post a workout journal with updates, pix and videos if peeps are interested?

you look great man, Congratulations on your success I hope your able to complete your goal, I wish you the best of luck. I believe and this is only constructive criticm that with more arm development yoru back shot would be much more impressive. It already is though good thick and well developed back.

I think at 255 youll be one of the biggest dudes up on stage.

congrats on reaching that naturally, its hard work.

Impressive!
Keep up the good work btw may i know your diet?

Awesome back, Bigg!

You’re a tall dude! I can only imagine how outstanding you’ll be at 255.

Yeah bro, looking at your pic,. and hearing your competition weight, you must be a tall dude! COnditioning looks right on. All the best with the pro card.

Good shit, man.

How tall are you and how long have you been training?

One more thing. 20 pounds of muscle in 1 year is a lot for someone (naturally) at your stage of development. What’s your plan of attack?

Awesome, congrats Bigg and good luck reaching your goals.

been training about ten years. started at 175lbs!!!

i know 20lbs is a lot for a natural, but i gotta do it. ive seen where some elite naturals have increased contest weight 16-20lbs in a year, so it can be done.

ive reached current level by grossly undereating!!! im putting together my diet right now. as soon as its done ill post it. ive learned a bunch about my body by competing three times already this year, and have a pretty good grasp on what needs to be done.

stay tuned. legs tomorrow. pix and videos will be posted.

1st and 2nd??? pose down

And only 10 years too? Well done mate.

I would say that as your legs and arms are so so SOO long, i would concentrate on the ('specially legs) in this off season…
If you get those quads up, you will really look a little more squat (forgive the pun) and it will really add to your X frame IMO.

I hope you do make 20lbs - even if it seems to be slightly overreaching, if you have got to your current weight without trying diet wise (bulk-wise) then, i am sure you could get a good 10lbs.

I might just add… Phil Heath had off 2 seasons I think it was, and came back with a show ready 15lbs… just something to think about!

Just watched the posedown clip. My brother is 6 foot something, and my training partner is easily 6’3, and the height looks to be a real bitch putting on noticable size. Guess its difficult to appear to take up space horizontally when you’re taking up so much vertically.

bodyweight this morning=245 lbs

bike 5 mins

leg press:

225 x 15
405 x 15
675 x 15
855 x 12

parking lot lunges:

110 lbs x 40 yrds
110 lbs x 40 yrds

omg!!! those killed me!!

lying leg curl:

150 x 15
200 x 15
225 x 12

vertical calf sled:

220 x 20
260 x 20
260 x 20

totally wiped out!!!
lunges were brutal.

Do your hamstrings and calves first then attack the qauds-leave lunges for last.
Also do lunges uphill and downhill.

Buy a sled -pull backwards.

No sqauts?

Legs look all right. You need more arms though. Incredible work either way. If you want to add 20 pounds atr this stage, you’ll need to EAT your way to a much heavier bodyweight before the next trim, which I;m sure you know.

One thign ive learnt is that when we want to greatly bring up body parts, we need to trigger a new growth spurt just like we did when we first built a base.

There’s something I read about in l rea’s book, which i’;m certain is valid for both natties as well as asissted - and I;m trying out for myself (enough time before I compete). He talks about going into a controlled catabolic phase as a way of triggerring a new growth spurt with a much better anabolic environment.

I only have 50-65 mins to spend in the gym, so I do squats, sldl, glute ham raise and more calves’ midweek.
