New York Barbells C-92563-W Power Rack?

Hey all,

Does anyone here have the C-92563 power rack from New York Barballs? It’s their smallest one, using 2" tubes. I’m sure it’s more than strong enough for to hold what I can squat, but I’m a little worried about things like dips… Seems like that might flex a smaller cage too much, etc.

But priced out with shipping and the same accessories (extra j-hooks, dip attachment, plate holders, etc.), it would be about $300 less than the C-8515-W. It would be nice to save the $ if it’s a good cage.

Thanks in advance for info on this or other similar options.

I have the C-8515 and it’s a tank with 2.5"x2.5" construction. It’s actually only $200 more than the 92563. The 92563 is a lot smaller than it looks in the picture(48.5"x48" vs 59"x58" and 26" between posts vs 33" between posts) and weighs about 100lbs less. I also like the pullup bar better on the 8515. If you have the money, I would say go for the 8515. It’s just better all around.

Also, for what it’s worth, I bought the extra plate holders and they just got in the way on things like floor presses, deadlifts/rdl’s, etc. I would suggest saving the money and picking up a cheap weight tree on craigslist or at a yard sale.

I have the 92563 because the other one was too tall for my room. It is a little light so I put some heavy dumbells on the feet. It’s a good rack and you will be really strong before you out grow it. For the price you can’t beat it.

It is short. You will have to bend your knees for chins and pull ups but it is plenty wide for squats.

Thanks all. I think I agree with both of you. The 8515 looks like a tank, and I’d love to have it. They’re both about the same height I think, so I’m not sure if you have to bend your knees more for pull-ups on one vs. the other.

Anyway, my living room is also my weight room. And I have a really low ceiling. It’s only 88 inches high. So as to keep the family happy, smaller is better. I might have to sacrifice here. We’ll see. But at least I have the info now.

Curious thing… This puts the Yukon Fitness PRK-127 back in the running. It appears to have almost identical dimensions to the C-92563. But it has a pull-up bar that can be reversed to hang a bit lower. Though I will definitely have to bend my legs, this might actually give me enough clearance to use it properly.

Craigslist made my decision for me… I got a Parabody 843 with lat pulldown, bench, and more weight/bar, etc for $400. I didn’t know a lot about it when I bought it, except that it looked good and I could easily sell it for the same price later if needed. But it turns out to be a hell of a rack. Top notch and in good condition. I think it’s a keeper.
