New to T-Nation?

Hello everyone! I’m new here and thought I’d introduce myself

I’m happy to meet everyone on here! I buy all sorts of Biotest products and I’m loving them. Currently I am entered in an 8 week transformation challenge, but I plan to continue this new healthy lifestyle even when it’s over (in 2 weeks).

Hello,

First post time. I’ve been lurking around for the last couple of months; this is a great site. Definately lots of good information. Look forward to posting and talking with all the knowledgeable people on the site!

Hey, New to T-Nation. Names Jamie, kind of been lurking for a while and thought I should finally post. Been training on and off for 1.5 years, I really like the big 3 lifts and usually include 1 in every workout.

All,

I joined this site in 03 when I found out at 38, that I needed HRT. I was researching options at the time and trying to gather as much information as I could. Over these past 7 years I’ve had some successes and failures, but am back hard in the gym and enjoying life again. Been re-reading a lot from here lately and trying to learn as much as I can. Just thought I’d say hello and make an intro.

John

Hey guys, new member here. I just moved to Staten Island, NY with my girl from Connecticut, and recently started training again after about 8 months off. My goal is to bulk slightly, but mostly gain strength. Currently I’ve started to cut as I’ve gained a decent amount of fat.

Stats:
Age: 27
Ht: 5’8"
Wt: 195
BF%: 15% give or take
Squat PR: 275 lbs x3
Deadlift PR: 335 lbs x3
Bench PR: 190x3
OHP: 115x5
Dips: BW + 45
Pullups: BW
Pulldowns: 180x10

I just joined while I’m not exactly NEW to weightlifting here’s my stats

Age: 19
Height: 5 foot 7
Weight: 225
BF: guestimated at 25%
Bench PR: 255 (in July when i weighed 215)
Squat: 365 (in January…so not up to date at all)
Deadlift: 425 (January also)

Just started Christian Thib’s “Destroying Fat” routine.

I just want to stop being a fatass and get semi-cut without losing too much muscle (everybody’s dream i know haha)for now… i would eventually like to weigh what i do now, just a hell of a lot leaner.

joined yesterday, send a pos in wrong place lol,
here I am:
i’m 43, not really a beginner, started lifting in my home at 14 yrs age at weight of 150ish
lbs,now 5’10x250,7.5’ wrist,on fat (lineman) side LOL, always liked lifting weights, former american football player, hope to receive good advices to grow up to my genetical limits.
I come back to iron after a 10 years stop,I have been training alone in my garage for two years (a flat bench with safe-life bars, a trap-bar,wrist-roller,BB,DBs,400 lb iron) so 'im a garage-rat instead of a gym-rat,LOL.
one or two times per month i go to local gym to use some machinesbut really I always have prefered free weights…

last december 360kg/800lb x 6reps at leg press,
bench press 150kg/330lb x 3 reps (no speedy eccentrics, not chest rebound
bb rows training 270lb x 8 strict style reps
reverse pulldowns 290lb (all the plates of machine) x 5 reps (again, controlled reps)
dont know my pb on miltary press… I use 70lb dbs for 4/5 reps (very slow eccentric)
years ago I did 470 squat x 3 reps but the load on lower back really don’t like…

I have ever sucked at incline bench, maybe because I’m triceps&delts dominant and have a shallow upper chest, who knows,ah , also on deads not really good becuase I get long torso and short legs so…

always used short and intense training sessions, hate to stay in the gym for hours…tried for months higher volume routines but did not worked but i could alwaus change my mind on it

ah, I always have been drug free and not very interested in dieting/ripping LOL

Thank You T-Nation for welcoming me to your forum and website…I have read dozens upon dozens of articles and would not like to consider myself a noob but hey you have to start somewhere. I will be of good and fair debate in my contributions and I hope to learn a hell of a lot ,not just from the articles but, from the mods and members as well.

Adios

Ed

Hello everyone. I’m a n00b to the site but have been a long time lurker. Some of you may know me from another site that I will not mention here. I already know the rules so to speak.

I look forward to being a contributing member to T-Nation.

I’m pretty new here as a member but have been checking out the site for almost a year now. I definitely like the feel and intensity of the site and the people. Lots of good info and definitely some people here to use as inspiration. I’m 6’2" and have a crazy high metabolism so hopefully the info here will help me to break past my plateau of weight both in lifting and my physical weight.

Been on the site a while, was a kid when I first came now im progressing into an adult. Looking to post regularly and contribute to discussions. Just started a training log so follow that if your like.

Hey everyone, I need some help. i’m starting phase 1 (shoulders) here are my questions:

  1. lets say its Monday ( phase 1 ) ( High -incline bench press) My max is 225lbs, 1st set = 110, 2nd set = 130, 3rd set = 150, 4th set = 170, 5 set = 190

*on my last set of this exercises and all the others exercise’s ,on my last set am i suppose to lift my max weight 225 lbs as many reps as possible until i start to slow down ? what weight should i be lifting for the last set?

  • should i increase the sets of the the incline bench press and other exercises 10 or 20 lbs to progress and get stronger every week?

If 225 is your true 1 RM you’re not going to be able to do reps with it.

In the scenario you’ve presented, it might make more sense to do sets with something more like the following weights: 110, 145, 175, 190, and 205 so that you’re not wasting effort on sets with weights below 60% of your max. Also, with an RM of 225, the 110 set is generally considered a warm-up set.

Yes.

Hello,

New here as well. I’m dutch, so please forgive my poor english and miscalculations in measurements

I’m 24 years old.
Height 5.10? (1.91 cm)
Weight 170

Bench 230 1 RM
Squat 250
DL 295
Pull Up + 60

I’ve joined because I’ve got a question, I hope this is the right place to ask. I’m trying to combine my weightlifting with bodyweight exercises. I’m working my way up to a front lever and a straddle planche.

The main problem is this: I’ve just advanced to the advanced tuck planche, but my forearms are killing me. As soon as I leave the position i feel a lot of stress, which wasn’t there in the tuck planche position. The stress is gone after half an hour. I think the forward shift in position puts a pressure on my forearms they’re not used to.

Unfortunately, this is greatly interfering with the rest of my lifting. I do a lot of dumbell walks, deadlifts en pull ups (full body schedule) and they’ve all suffered when i advanced to the advanced tuck planche.

I used to do the static holds every day, except for the weekends, when i rested. But I simply can’t work out like i want to anymore. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks for the help in advance, and i hope this is the right forum to ask.

Hey everyone - after years of lurking on these forums I’m jumping in. I’ve been around for about years and met so many cool guys down at the DC Test Fest way back in the day. Dan John, Dave Tate, Phil - you dudes rock. Anyway, I just want to finally say what’s up to everyone here and hello.

After a year of getting fat I’m back in the game and in the pursuit of muscle - great tag line guys, who got the bonus for thinking of that?

hey guys been reading these forums for a long time now and finally it’s my turn to join the crew! i’m just a regular teen who’s been training seriously for a couple of years now, and this year it’ll be my third (: glad to have found my way into this forum with all the interesting things that go on about every week.

i’m 19 and 5 feet 7 (i know, i’m asian anyway), hoping to own my own gym decades later in my country! so i’m working hard now trying to make it big as a lifter and bodybuilder some day so i can start influencing people and getting more people in my country to live healthier lifestyles. corny shit, but as they say, whatever floats my boat.

Currently…
Benching 200lbs for 5
Squating 200lbs for 5
Deadlifting 275lbs for 5

hoping to learn a lot more in here from you folks

Hey everyone-

I’ve been a fan of this site for a few years now, and recently decided to create an account. I’ve been training seriously for about 15 years, and have have trained with a variety of goals.

I went from an athlete, to bodybuilding, to powerlifting, and now back to bodybuilding.

I really enjoy helping people wherever I can.

Medium time reader first time poster. Fuck that was lame.

Anyway, 28yo have been a fatass for the past 6 years. Got sick of it about 4 months ago, got serious about 2 months ago. Worked Rippletoe’s program to 3RM Bench 265, Squat 365, Dead 385, all at a very not-lean 260 bodyweight.

Just finished week 1 on Thib’s high-performance-big-vocabulary program. Splitting my time at work between reading articles, forums, and the vixen posts. I don’t think I’d make a very good skinny guy so aiming to get as strong as I can over the next few months.

Thanks to all of you contributors - an incredible site.
