amazing stuff!!
btw, his movements are eccentric-free??
weird but it works for him…
Yeah, I noticed that as well, Buzza. But I think he limits that to mostly shoulder training. I can’t imagine squatting or benching like that.
lol

I actually watched a bunch of his vids because his training style is unique. He trains like this for every body part. For chest he lets the bar stay on his chest for a full second for every rep. All his training emphasizes a full stretch. Almost like everything is performed in dead stop fashion.

I think the only gyms that would stop someone like that from taking their shirt off while filming their own training video are places like Curves and Planet Fitness.

haha true, i just mean as far as normal tranies go, being shirtless on benches and shit tends to be against sanitary regulations, im just glad they dont stop the monsters though

Do you not see a benefit in a slow eccentric?
I do, it should be used very sparingly as it is quite tough on the body. Especially when one uses such large volume like Alexey probably does.

Slow eccentrics have gotten a really bad rap on this site because of CT’s latest training philosophy. The demonization of it is a little ridiculous.
Bottom line: eccentrics lead to muscle growth. Especially when someone who is using anabolics (like Alexey is). Our bodies were not made to just focus on eccentric less movements…the eccentric function is just as important.
Eccentrics (not sparingly but OFTEN) have their place in many people’s training…especially those who do not have the luxury to train all the time. And especially for those seeking maximum hypertrophy.

I’m not talking about eccentrics as in what a normal bodybuilder does. I took slow eccentrics as in using weight releasers, 2/1 technique, supramaximal negatives, etc.

My response was sort of d*ckish wasn’t it? My misunderstanding, and my apologies. I guess that is my natural defensiveness coming out with alot of perceived attacks against the traditional training techniques that seem very prevalent these days…especially on this site. In my quest to be more “open minded” towards these new philosophies and ideas, there is still a definite special place in my heart for the traditional methods which very much includes slow controlled eccentric portions of a rep.
I very much dislike the “one method is better than the other” debates (and one that I also get involved with…how hypocritical is that! lol!) or philosophical edicts that many trainers expouse as “the WAY”. I’m happy to read them, but spare me the preaching (even though, yes, I think I do preach myself often…I try not to!).

I do see the benefits of eccentric (accentuated) excercises:increments of fast strenght and more powerfull contractions, lighter loads used (because of no miostatic aka stretch reflex),
I do it (dead bench, dead CGDB,dead MP etc etc) as well but I don’t cut the eccentric phase as during it there is more muscle damnage (hyperetrophia).
pls, watch eccentric less olympic sports;
rowing for example, rowers don’t seem to be muscular guys at all.
olympic lifters, the same (with some exceptions).
and my brain told me “if I cut eccentrics I have to double -at least- the volume to have same growth”.
as i’m little busy at work so I keep my slow (2,3’) eccentrics
PS; Lesukowvis a freak of nature, very probably he could grow just watching the gym LOL

His training is certainly not eccentric-less. As others have said he controls the weight. I think he chooses to focus on a full complete stretch with no lockout. He also goes to concentric failure. He also does drop sets on every exercise.
I’m not trying to argue whether people should do slow negatives or not or what training method is best. I just simply find his training style interesting. The anithesis of Jason Huh.
well,i’m really far away from " this method sucks, this is right" debate,me too find interesting atomic boy way of training but -without any will of flame- his behind the neck press looks to me 110% eccentric free, pec training not.
