While I haven’t had a huge amount of luck of leaning down (I won’t bore you with excuses as to why) I had a recent personal best doing barbell shrugs with 315 for solid 16 reps.
I did them in my squat cage for safety, but they were full shrugs, not just lifting the bar off a tiny bit.
I’m taking some new supplments that really amp me up, and so I figured what the hell!
Now keep in mind I’m not a huge guy at 6’2 223 (I should be 200 lbs lean) but what the hell. Additionally I only have a 16 inch neck so I’m basically a skinny guy that has built himself up.
Anyway, the purpose of this post is simply to note a personal best as I’m very aware there are many stronger power lifters on this board that would laugh at shruging 315 for reps.
Now if I could only get my deads and bench up to 315 for 16 reps! I’m 37 now so I’m trying to be a bit more safety conscious.
And lastly regarding my wanting to be 200 lbs, I just can’t seem to muster the discipline to eat lean enough to get there, so if anyoen on this board has any epiphany’s as to what motivated them to grab and hold on to the discipline to get ripped I’m all ears.
I’ve just been unable to maintain it. I KNOW exactly what I need to do, but cannot maintain the diet for more than a few days before bing eating.
Ahh well…thanks for listening.
