New Partner, More Consitency

1 hour at wrestling practices. Great warm then worked singles very basic but hey I need it. Kids had a good time and ages in the club range from 4 years old to high school and then me. Then

Bench press
135 3x10. 160 3x10
Bent over row 3 x 20 100 lbs.

Thats it for the day. It beer thirty and I’ll hit the heavy bag and work some arm bar and triangle from the bottom drills.

1 hour of werstling today working on cross faces to the bundle up??? and then some jap whizzers and singles and doubles. had a couple of live sessions today and boy did it where me out.

then I came home and worked the heavy bag for 5 3 min rounds. shoulders are sore and i’m wiped out.

diet is out the door till next monday.

You have to be burning a lot of cals.

Maybe there is alot of instruction going on but most importantly I am having fun with the kids

MMA class tonight lots of mitt work after the warm up then probably 20 mins of live grappling from the guard position. Got myself in to several good positions tonight and out of a couple of bad ones using some patience and not panicking for once. Its amazing how well you can think things out when you are relaxed.

Example: I shot in for a single leg take down I got the single but left my head on the outside so he put me in a Guillotine.(aka poor decision) then I decided to finish the single which made things tighter but I was able to jump into side control which relieved all of the pressure on my neck and I was free from passing out. (good choice). then I powered my head out of the choke hold. Ear hurts like hell now because IT WAS TIGHT(maybe good decision maybe bad Ill let you know tomorrow. Anyway things are still lots of fun at class and I see myself going for a long time.

Then I went home and worked out…

Dead lift
135x10
225x5
245x5
265x5
285x5
305x5 really concentrating on speed.

Super setted with 5x10 ezbar curls 75 LBS

then 3x3 chins…

thats it…

3 cheat days lots of carbs and McDonald’s and woke up this morning at 203… going to get back on the wagon today instead of Monday just seems that all my hard work is slipping away even though I don’t look any fatter just fuller… muscles look swole and I have not done anything but eat…

tweaked the knee at wrestling yesterday so no squats this weekend have lots of yard work to do but the knee gets time to heal

5 rounds of
15 pushups
4 pistol grip pull ups
8 ab wheel roll outs…

good short warm up type work out… my body is liking the carb’s right now

I dont get on much anymore my focus on training has gone more towards the skill specific area of fighting in general. I still lift some and do cardio but mostly just train my fight skills. anyway I though some of you may enjoy watching my boxing videos from last night.

Round 1

round 2

Round 3

Wow. That’s intense. You couldn’t pay me enough money to do that. Good for you!

Nice boxing match. It reminds me of the recent news story about how Justin Trudeau, son of Former Prime Minister Pierre Elliiot Trudeau and a Liberal member of Parliament, had a charity boxing match with a Conservative senator. they are both about 180lbs. The senator came out hard but was getting trounced by the middle of the third and the referee stopped it.

Ok, the real reason I am posting. I recently got myself a good deal on a heavy bag, after I saw a Freddy Roach video. I already learned some basic skills a number of years ago but I haven’t kept it up. Of course if I start getting more active with it I will have to scale back my lifting. Half way down the page is the current routine. Kpsnap said to check your journal, I looked at more the beginning and end. The question is, if I cut out the day 3, will the remaining 2 days with aerobic bag work and rope skipping be about right? Please and thanks in advance.

posting about runs and push ups isnt much to talk about that and fight training… lifting is back on the lift now that the fight is over and I plan on posting more. I read your log everyday if it makes you feel better…

2.5 mile run 21.30 not bad pushed my self in intervals speeding up and slowing down so as to not burn myself out. ran the 1.5 in 13:30 which is a little slow but I was pacing for 2.5 not 1.5… maybe I will try to get a hard 1.5 in this weekend.
