OK so the meet went well once I got my head out of my ars. I screwed he pooch on the squat opener and any hopes of the 1100 total was out of the door. After I failed at 308 on the platform I walked back into the warm up area and put 315 on the bar and smoked it. Atleast I had my confidence back. After that things went smoothly. I changed my third attempt on the bench from 259 to 265 to go for a p/r and did not get it. My back was really starting to get stiff by the end of my 3rd bench as I am sure that I tweaked it during the terrible squat opener. I foam rolled a little and it felt better. Squats felt real strong and I thought for sure that my third attempt which would have been a p/r was going to fly up but it just did not happen.

All in all it was a great event and I had a great time. I meet a few new and really nice people while I was there and even joined team Indiana and received the T-Shirt that me and Dog are sporting in the pic.

Next meet will probably be March 17th hosted by Team Indiana in Kokomo Indiana. the goal for that meet will be what my planned 3rd attempts were for this meet. I dont think those should be to far off and hopefully I will smash them.

I laughed at your squat opener. Looked like you were going to fly through the roof with the bar it came up so fast. You squat pretty deep!

Your last bench was so, so close.

Great pic of you and Bulldog. Wonderful that you’re already planning your next meet.

Wow it was so quiet in there.

I guess I’m used to the music and people shouting.

Long time no see. training has been hit or miss as of late. I got sick for almost two weeks and that keep me out of the gym for a little while.

As some of you may remember I had volunteered to fight in a charity boxing match. Well it was last night. Things were a little screwy and I was trying to cut weight to fight a 200 pound guy so I had not eaten or drank anything in about 18 hours and the few days before were reduced calories. Well when I get there I find out that they changed my opponent to a guy who weighed near 205 so I could have at least eating that morning.

Anyway I weighed in at 206 and he weighed in at 204. He found out 36 hours prior to the fight that he was fighting so disadvantage to him. BUT he regularly practices Krav Maga. I was a little worried since I had only hit the mitts one time since April and I had not done any sparring for this fight. Needless to say I did not prepare as I should have..... instead of spoiling the end here are the videos

So are you telling us you’re leaving powerlifting for boxing?

Nice match!

I would say that my career as a powerlifter was always going to be a short coming. I am more of a generalist. I plan on competing in both for as long as my body will allow me…

That is freaking awesome. You have stones, m’man!

wow have not been on here in a long while… hopefully I can start being more consistent with posting and going to the gym. The next few months may be rough for both. The wife has had 2 gall bladder attacks in the last week and we go to speak to a surgeon on Jan. 10th to get it removed. she is also going to have a hysterectomy at the same time so I will be essentially working 2 jobs for a month taking care of her daycare…
