New Here, Question to Advanced Lifters

Hello every body, this is the first time posting here but I have heard excellent feedback from you guys.

Okay first off, I am a pretty advanced lifter, I have been training naturally since I was 15 years old. I have just now taken my journey to the next level. I have a lot more energy and I am getting a lot stronger and bigger lately, however today I hit chest, I had to wait for a lot of equipment and on a time limit for work.

I only gave it about 75% today and I feel like going back here in a couple hours and finish giving it everything. I did a lot of dumbbell, flys and cables. I was thinking of going back and hitting barbell incline flat, close grip and finishing with triceps. I did a total of 17 sets earlier.

Thoughts? Thanks guys for any information.

Bump

U should typically wait 4-6 hrs between workouts before working out again. If I was you I’d read Charles Poliquin’s “Question of Strength” Volumes on this website (type it in the search bar at upper right corner). You’ll learn so much stuff! Hes one of my favorite authors, try to avoid the forums, he even suggested to do that!

Thanks for the info, do you have a link to this? I will have waited four hours and had two meals since then. Also this is on regards to bodybuilding not so much strength although they do work together but of coarse if I was gong for pure strength I know better than to workout again. Thanks

Try it and see what happens. If you feel like lifting again, lift again.

dont remember exactly which article, but ive used it so many times when i was in a powerlifting training or bodybuilding cycle. Its actually pretty common knowledge that this is a fastert way to get stronger, working out multiple times a day, as long as supps, nutyrition and rest is covered.

Read up on it brother, seriously get off the forums, get in the gym and just immerse yourself into the articles, guarantee youll make some of your best gains ever with this type of focus and just listening to one of the top strength coaches in the world.

What’s your work schedule like ?

Could you give your 100% AFTER work or even BEFORE ?

Also, you might want to take this over to the “Bigger,Stronger,Leaner” or “Bodybuilding” forums. I think you’ll get much more feedback there than here in the Conditioning forum.

Thomas Kurz and Vladimir Zatsiorsky provide concrete principles for extra sessions and what the volume should be in comparison to your small, medium or extreme session(and rest periods in between), I high recommend reading their works, The Science and Practice of Strength Training and The Science of Sports Training.
