New Here, Gained 47lbs in 11 Months

Hey everyone,

I do not whether I’m allowed to create a topic like this, so if this is not allowed, I’m sorry. The reason I started this topic is to introduce myself here on T-Nation. I’m from Amsterdam, Holland. I’m 20 years old now and in 9 months I will move to the USA!

From when I was young I grew up as a tiny litte wurm, with a 20 inch waist. I never tried to eat properly (excuse me for my english btw) and had no clue what the definition of a gym was. This ended approximately 11 months ago. At that moment I was 138lbs, with a height of 6 foot and 2.5 inch. So you could pretty much say that I was as thin as hair.

At that moment I decided, I wasn’t going to be a small baby anymore. I started reading everyone, so also on T-Nation. I got myself a diet, a descent gym, and started bulking for life. I made sick beginnersprogress, then I go a acute appendecitus operation, from which I’m recovered now.

At the moment I’m not 138lbs, but 185! I know it’s still very pussy, but you gotta start somewhere right. I want to be 215-220, when I start living in the USA. It’s so sick how big you guys are in the USA. I was in LA last week, and I really felt so small hehe.

But I signed up here now, to learn a lot of aspect from bodybuilding, and look forward to actively participate in the forum topics.

Best regards,
Amsterdammed

Welcome and good luck.

What did your lifting stats do before and after this weight gain?

Welcome to T-Nation, glad you’re getting your info here over BB.com

You really don’t want to know, but I’ll write down a couple although its embarrising…

BP before: 5x65lbs after: 5x150lbs
SQ before: 5x65lbs after: 5x140lbs
MP before: 5x45lbs after: 5x105lbs
DL before: 5x80lbs after: 5x210lbs

Okay, I was really really tiny lol. I have posted an image from 9 months ago and know, the comparison.

Progress is progress man, I came from the same boat. Gained 40-50 lbs over the last year, I used to weigh 140 on a full stomach at 6’1" lol. Keep it up!

Pat yourself on the back and keep pushing. You have the right mentality to keep progressing, and are at a good start.

There’s plenty more in store for you.

nice work bro. you look like you really bulked right, you got a little fatter, which is totally acceptable, and clearly added some muscle. and don’t be ashamed about the lifts. You’re not throwing up huge numbers, no, but those are better than you might think after reading T-Nation.

I know that every thread on here has 150 pound guys talking about squatting 300 pounds, but most of it isn’t true. If you’re using good form, then adding a hundred pounds, give or take, on each lift, is certainly good progress in 11 months.

keep it up.

Thats really good progress and dont feel bad about your starting numbers, i could barely bench press 70lbs when i first started and i weighed 235… but you made awesome progress, good job!

Great job dude! You’ve accomplished more than most have in two years.

The only think I’ll point out is your squat. You’re gains are good all around (nice work on deads!), but the numbers is a little low compared to your other lifts. I’m not saying you’re not training legs, but maybe you aren’t training them effectively enough. Mind posting your leg routine? I only bring this up because you’re early into your training and it appears you want to make the best gains possible.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I’m very happy to have discovered T-Nation, and I have been reading the whole day now. I have the idea that I’ve learned so much already and it motivates my really much to go on, since I have had some dips (ups en downs the whole time) due to personal circumstances…

I’m gonna make a food scheme soon, and a training scheme as well. Tbh, I’ve had them when I began, but I didn’t go through with it, as I was a lazy fuck. I think the food is the biggest struggle for me, since I have a busy life with lots of activities. I have drunk A LOT of chocomilk, which I had the idea, helped me a lot! Of course, it includes a lot of fats, but downing a liter chocomilk after a workout really contributed to my gains. Maybe you guys think I’m a complete fool since I did that, that might be true, but I will learn that soon enough hehe.

About my leg routine, I usually do these in a week, with 3 different FB’s, but sometimes I just pick the exercises I want to do that day:

Back Squat
Front Squat
Deadlift
Legg press
Standing Calf raises
Leg extension (don’t know if that’s how you call it, it’s when you lay down and press your feet in the direction of your ass, if for the hamstrings)

That’s about it. But I’m gonna make a schema from 1 Ã?ugust onwards, when my regular college year starts again. Any tips are welcome!

welcome

good progress, and you got a tan as well!

Oh okay, thanks.

Leg extension then is that you have your legs in a 90 degrees angle and then raise your feet up in the air untill your legs are straight?

Don’t forget your tris, bis, lateral and rear delts buddy. But good work in general, onwards to 200+ !

@ KTRenman: Thanks man, I’m going for it!

@ CC: No, won’t forget. It’s just that I haven’t really trained them untill now. I have made a new training program and started today! I also started a training log @

So I’ll keep everyone who wants to know updated, and I’ll motivate myself even more to reach my goals!
