New HardCore Garage Gym

:frowning: I hate you. I have a cheap-ass 6’ bar and a pair of cast-iron quarters and a pack of 10, 5 and 2.5 lb plastic-coated cement weights. Bar included, I have 170 lbs to work with. Lucky for me, I am weak right now.

i need matting for my home gym, and cheap would be nice. someone earlier said they bought two 4’X6’ mats for 75 dollars. the only way i can find them is $85 a piece. where are those cheap ones from?

Go to feed stores (for horses and other animals) 4*6 ~$50.00.

Stable mats for horses or shop mats for industrial workplace flooring are about the same, good guage of rubber, and about half the price.

I purchased mine from a feed store. Two 4x6 mats (about 3/4" thick and 100lbs each!) cost me $75 for both.

Who are you, Ronnie Coleman? Lol, I understand the excitment.

how much did the total cost come to.

Cost Breakdown:

13,000 for equipment
600 for dumbbells
2,000 for Weight, Chains, Bands, Weight Releasers, sleds, Platform, Mats, misc stuff

So pretty close to 16,000 for a complete setup. Maybe even 17,000.

and Two big PITBULLS for security

WOW! I’m jealous! That is what the gym of my dreams looks like… I’d like to know though, have you sold your car or wife or anything to get the cash for that or do you just have a well paid job? I so want a gym like that at some point in my life…

Hey mate congrats on the new gym, just a quick question. I am thinking of setting up something similar but I was looking at newyorkbarbells.com. They use similar 3x3 box metal in the rack but are a good bit cheaper. Did you look into them or have you heard anything bout them before?
Thanks

I have a nybarbell rack and it is fine.

If you are serious about buying one, get it from midwestbarbell.com. They carry from the same supplier but are oftentimes cheaper and also sponsor lifters and meets.

Well I promised everyone pictures so now that everything is setup and ready here ya go.

Here is a picture of everything

Monolift w/bars mounted on wall behind

3x3 Rack with Platform. Notice chains and bands mounted on back of rack
