yeah, you shouldn’t train lower body on the same day you do snowrobics, or snowditioning
It hasn’t been above freezing for quite a while. Snow blowing is fun for the first hour then gets real old. I was beat last night when I was finished.

Anyone try the ‘yoga, yes yoga, for big bastards’? Done it twice today. Feels great (hurts). Got to do this stuff more often.
I might give this yoga stuff a whirl. My wife talked me into doing some yoga back when I fubared my back. I think as I stated before it was only done in the basement, with the lights off, in the odd hours, so noone would know. But it felt good. Probably would help me.
i got a video from the local library called “yoga for back care”. It helped me quite a bit. I am not doing any of that right now because I am stuborn and not terribly bright, but I will bookmark the article just in case.
never tried it around other people.
I think all of us ‘sit down job’, ‘heavy lifting’ guys over 35 could use some kind of stretching several times a week. And no one will dare to laugh to our faces. Maybe behind our backs.

Bench felt good. Really working on technique. Upright rows with the trap bar are cool. I’m still not sure if I like deadlifts with the trap bar. I’m going to try SLDL next workout with it and see how they feel.
Yoga actually takes a lot of strength. I highly recommend it.
Big bench! Wowsie. Could I have some of that?
Snapper, you’re already benching as much as me.
Yep, stretching is important for off cie job guys. I’m trying to stretch 2-3x a day in the office.
I’m not sharing any bench. I’m 40 lbs off my max. Been doing the yoga stretches most days.

Jury still out on the trap bar for deads and sldl. I definitely like it for shrugs and uprigth row.
If you have ever actually deadlifted, and can still do w/o injury, you won’t like the trap bar for deads. good for shrugs if you don’t have stupid wide plates in your gym. I have used it as a squat deload type movement when my shoulders were too banged up to hold a bar across my back. also it so far is the only way I can get my wife to do a squat/dl type movement, other than sldls/rdls, which she is excelling at
Big benching, great squatting, awesome yogaing. So do you have a favorite mantra? “hari krishna…”
Pete, glad to read your wife is hitting the weights. Does she use a single or double ply bench shirt?
You’re right about the trap bar. Its good for assistance or deload type stuff.
Harry,I think you’re laughing at my yogaing. Can’t you just accept me for who I am? I thought what we had was special.
I did some yoga once with my wife. Way too damn new-agey for me. Maybe on my own without the “visualize oneness with the universe” stuff it wouldn’t be so bad. Is it doing you any good?
Carl,I’m only doing 6 stretches from the article ‘yoga for big bastards’. I’m not sure if its working but it feels good. I want to find a few more usefull stretches and have a set daily stretching routine.
I do some yoga poses all the time- some are staples and some are just things I do when something is broken.
Im small enough and flexible to be able to do most of them/it
I dont drink the cool aid but adding any kind of stretching/mobility be it yoga or other
only helps old bastids

Better lifting night tonight. Leaving now to take my oldest son to his first dance.
I’m really big on mobility and foam rolling. It’s a required part of my lifting days… I figure if I don’t have time for mobility and stretching I don’t have time to lift. I started doing it for rehab, now it’s prehab. Yoga did very little for me, but I can see the value.
