Steve, was this workout in your basement? What sort of DBs do you have?[/quote]
I was working out down in the damp, dark basement all alone with my ghetto spin on collar dbs from Walmart.
Been busy this week. After school stuff, son’s birthday, middle school hockey game. Tonights workout I finished in less then 1/2 hour. No warm-up. Straight to 135 both exercises. I should have time over the next 4 days to workout.

And you can get them upto 80#? How high can you actually get them?

I’ve got ten 25lb (small hole) plates. I can make two 120 lb dbs or one 150lb db with the spin on collars. Also, I have a couple pipes and a ton of 10lb plates that I can make huge Krock row dbs with.
6/9
1a.regular deads 315x5,365x3,405x4(hard) semi-sumo deads 405x5(easy,could have done 10)
1b.bench 265x5,295x3,335x5,225x10
2.trap bar carries 135,225,315,405,315
3.chinups and pushups
I stink at regular deads. This means I need to keep doing them. Semi-sumo is soooooo much easier for me. I mean at least 50lbs easier. My low back must be weak, right?
My oldest son gave up on working out but my youngest is showing interest. He did deads, bench, pushups, pullups and wrist rolls today. He’s already asking to workout tomorrow. I’m not getting my hopes up (that’s a lie).
I pushed myself tonight. Felt dizzy and almost puked. Wanted to do a couple more hill sprints but I was toasted.
Youngest son
1a.trap bar deads 75x5x3 sets
1b.MP 20x5x3 sets
2. 2 sets chins
3. 2 sets wrist rolls
He keeps asking when he’s gonna be ‘ripped’ and when he’ll start noticing his muscles getting bigger. He’s so tiny for his age. 11 years old and only 73 lbs. But luckily he’s a great athlete so he doesn’t feel too bad being small.

Nice work, Steve. Sledge swings sound brutal.
Has your son hit puberty? He should notice it them. I still have a few years to worry about that with mine. My daughter, on the other hand, is well into puberty…at 11!
Both of my boys, however, do come in and “workout” with me. Translated, hang from the bars, do pulldowns on the machine. At least they are in there.

The sledge hammer swings were tough and got my heart rate up but what killed me was the sled sprints.
My 13 year old son has started puberty and is going to be a big boy. Over 6’ and well over 2 bills. He just turned 13 and is 5’4’’ and 175lbs with a size 11 shoe and wrists as big as mine. But my youngest will be lucky to be over 5’5’'. No signs of pubery with him. But he’s the fastest in his grade and hockey team(s) and can standing broad jump over 6 feet.
Good luck with the daughter. I don’t have any of that kind and have no helpfull advice for you. Just keep your head down and hope for the best.
Size 11 shoes at 13? That is what I wear at 43! lol He is gonna be a big boy.
Why do you think your youngest will be short? Of course, speed is sometimes the better of the two.
As for my daughter, I am relying heavily on my wife to raising her. I am just there for intimidation and enforcement

I’m a big fan of sled sprints now. They seem to be less taxing on my recover than regular sprints for whatever reason.
Really solid work going on in here!

Good to see you James. The sled sprints are easier on my feet and knees then straight sprinting. The sledge hammer swings are fun too if you haven’t tried them.
High rep db rows are tough. I dread them every time I write them into my workout. My boys occasionally join me outside. They’re just not into it like I am yet. Let the testosterone kick in and the way they think of girls change. Then they’ll want to workout.
6/15
1a.fat bar deadlifts 295x5,335x5,385x5
1b.bench 235x5,275x5,315x7
a bunch of stone lifts and short carries
I’m stll getting used to regular deads. I still hate them. It felt great getting outside and lifting some stones. Sledgehammer and sled sprints tomorrow.
My youngest started working out today but after 2 sets informed me he doesn’t like working out on Fridays. Says he’s always tired on Fridays.
