New Hampshire Training

that is some solid squatting

Thanks Pete.

Did some cleans and benching over the weekend.

1/30
squats 385x3,440x3,495x3
fat bar deads 275 x 5 sets x 10 reps no belt
ab rolls

Squats felt solid. Deads were awesome. Feeling good.

405 x 15 squats? Yeah, real wuss.

What Harry sez… Thats some damn BIG work!

Steve how are you and yours doing?

Your lifting has seemed to find its rhythm and rhyme!

Have you read Steve Justa’s Rock,Iron and Steel? He has a great routine to follow if you have a home gym with some weight.

Harry&Wilson, always great to hear from you guys.

My twelve year old has actually workouted out with me the past four workouts. His squatting flexibility is terrible. Not really sure why. I’ve got him doing goblet squats trying to teach him the correct movement. Last night his workout was:

db hang clean and press 3x10
goblet squat 3x10
farmers carry for 30 seconds
slam sit ups 3x10 (slam a ball against the wall and catch it as you sit up. Keeps it fun and loud)

My wife made an awesome chicken, mashed potatoe, homemade bread, corn and green beans dinner for our post workout meal. Then the kids went skating on our rink. Life is good.

Thanks big boy. I’ll look at this during lunch.

I’d like to have one day being as strong as you Steve. I think that would be pretty cool.

Steve, I used to think only Harry ate like a king, but it sounds like mama is taking good care of you up in la nord.

Your training looks pretty awesome. Are you gonna hop on the smolov train with young Joe?

Joe,I hope to have your low bodyfat someday.

MJ,my wife has been cooking quite a bit lately. Not good for my waistline.
I’ve never looked at smolov. A lot of squatting involved??

2/1 5 am (yes f%$#ing 5 am)

  1. bench 245x3,280x3,315x3,335x1,355x1,375x1
    2a.MP 155 x 5 sets x 10 reps
    2b.1 arm db rows 100 x 5 sets x 10 reps

My schedule is totally packed until Sunday. So I dragged my sorry ass out of bed and hit the basement. I have so much respect for anyone who lifts in the early morning. Don’t know how you do it.

Welcome to the Early morning crew. It’s really not that bad. Damn good training, Steve.

The upper body work wasn’t too bad today but I can’t imagine having a good squat workout that early.

2/4
Cleans worked up to 235x1
Deads worked up to 465x1

I had to do this workout real early. Felt weak and it showed.

2/6
Squats 415x5, 465x3, 525x2
MP 165x5, 190x3, 215x4
Chin/pull ups 4 sets

Squats are going good. Hopefully hit 600 again soon. If I wrap my knees I could have gotten another rep.

Just awesome as usual bro…

I used to train all the time in the AM, actually felt my strongest then…however 5am is waaaaay too early.

Thanks Matty. AM training is for the strong minded people.

2/8
1.squats 275x10,10,10
2.sldl 135x5,185x5,235x5,285x5,335x5
3a.bowflex chest press 200x20,10,10
3b.1 arm rows 100x15,8,8

I’m taking a break from deads. Gonna try sldl and GMs for awhile instead. No belt today.

Headed to Cananda tomorrow for a hockey tournament with my youngest son. Be back Sunday night. I’m hoping to get a couple lame hotel workouts in.

Damn, solid work! I agree on the early morning training. I’ve done it a few times but it’s brutal and you’re right about squats at that hour.

james

Thanks James. Sqauts, deadlifts or any really heavy leg work is out of the question at that hour for me. Upper body and circuits I’m finding aren’t so bad.

Got up at 5 am and hit the gym here at work for some db circuits and 15 total minutes on the eliptical machine thing. Time for a large coffee and bacon/cheese omelette.

Thats strong squatting right there.

AM training if for the birds.

I approve of the bacon/cheese omelette.
