I can only imagine how tough that is on you. That can only mean it is working though.
Damn solid work! I would imagine that the stone lifting is tough indeed. How heavy is the stone? Do you also incorporate loaded carries?

James,I have 3 stones I train with. Two I’ve weighed on my bathroom scale: 212 lbs, 226.5 lbs. The third is my heaviest and must weight around 250 lbs. I do some carrying for distance, lifting onto a platform (picnic table with cement blocks), lifting to chest height, shouldering and pressing overhead (only the 212 lb). I have some farmers carry devices I made but haven’t used in awhile. I’ve come to enjoy this more then lifting. But when there’s a foot of snow I’ll have to give it a break.
Also all the stones are ‘natural’ stones I found in my yard each with its unique shape.

Thanks Joe. I definitely feel stonger lifting the stones. I’m not sure how much is related to learning the technique though.

30 minutes of stone lifts and carries. Definitely getting better at lifting my three stones. Need to find a forth.
I was planning on squats and bench yesterday but the sun was out and the temp was perfect for an outdoor workout. I’m sure the stone lifting isn’t helping my bench or squat but my forearms, biceps and ‘bear hug’ are all getting quit the workout.

More stonelifting tonight in the dark. There is snow on the ground and in the low 30’s already. It’s not even November yet.
Hopefully some more stone work tomorrow and Sunday. These workouts sure are quick to type.
DUDE!
Foam roll and mobility drills. Helps minimize DOMS… well a little. Tell me you’re doing mobility work!
Thanks Canada. I do some stretching. Thats about it.

1b. MP 95x3,135x3,185x3,205x3,225x3
several stonelifts
Feeling good. Just some bruises on my arms and legs from all the stonelifts. We’re scheduled to get 4-6 inches of snow tonight. Record snow fall for October here.
475 on the fat bar? dang! Do you think the stone lifting helps the grip any?
BUY A DAMNED FOAM ROLLER!
And then make sweet, slow love to it while you watch television.
MJ,stonelifting really works the grip. My forearms get a huge pump and will ache for a day or two following a workout.
Canada_K, maybe I’ll try it tonight out of respect to you. Do you have any order of areas you typically roll? And for how long? Maybe my wife will get excited watching me make sweat. slow love to my roller. Or maybe vomit.

LOL. That is a visual a man with sore forearms and grinding his hips/pelvis into a foam roller while sweating and grunting…
Whats up Steve? You and familia doing good?
Lifts looking good.
Rick
Rick, great to hear form you. Things are good with the wife and kids. We lost power for 36 hours in this last snow storm but it actually was kinda fun. Played a lot of games and cards by candle and lantern light. I also drank about a case of beer Sun and Mon nights. Maybe that was why I had fun.

Freaking impressive.
Man, there is some fantastic work in here.
Did you end up getting a foam roller? How did your wife react? My wife just looks at me like I’m crazy but that’s pretty par for the course.
james
Tony, good to hear from you. I’m liking the deads with a fatter bar. Hopefully it carries over to a better grip.
Joe,thanks for the support.
Aty1,I use a 3’’ pvc pipe to roll. I’m sorry to say I haven’t started rolling yet though. After stone lifting, flipping a big tire and dragging a tire sled around the yard my wife doesn’t look at me like I’m crazy any more.
