too much new stuff to try, not enough time. I’d love to give the stones a whirl, but i have no idea where i’d fit it in. [/quote]

^^^ Well that pretty much covers all the bases.

I like simple too.

Let’s hope the winter weather is kind because that’s a fair bit of outdoor work.

Damn, I looked on the web and couldn’t find any jokes about stone carriers!!! Great freakin work in this place…I need to simplify my workouts like that…meat and potatoes…

Brett,it was 82 degrees here today. Went in the neighbors pool.

OG,simple is best. The old 80-20 rule.

Oct 9
warm up, 3 rounds
1a.sledge hammer 20 swings
1b.20 BW squats
1c.10 plyo push ups

stone lift to 57 inches (top of big tire)
212 lb stone x 1 x 5 sets
226 lb stone x 1 x 5 sets

2 hill sprints (got called away to go swimming)

Stood my big tire up to lift my stones onto. I think its around 57’’ tall. After my second hill sprint I went swimming in the neighbors pool. Heated to 83 degrees. Felt great.

Thats a hell of a workout. You’ve got to be sore and winded at the end of that thing.

Thanks Joe. I did ache a little yesterday.

10/11
1.squat 135x6,225x6,275x6,315x6
2.bench 135x5,235x3,260x3,300x6
3a.BB rows 225x15x3 sets
3b.2 handed db swings 80x15x3
3c.ghetto neck raises 30x15,12,12

Starting to dig the db swings. I think I’m almost doing them correctly. Squats felt good tonight. Minimal low back pain.

good work. the swings do help the back.

I like this training nice work

when you said I went in the neighbors pool
I thought you picked up your stones
and went and took a leak in the neighbors pool

MJ,thanks for getting me into the swing thing. Its going to be a staple in my training from now on.

Kev,my neighbor is so mellow he probly wouldn’t get angry if I pissed in his pool. He laughs at me carrying stones and swinging the sledge hammer. But he makes a mean frozen margarita and always has beer.

Yes great neighbor. Training looks great too. 5,3,1 stones and sprints looks killer to me, but what do I know. If your neighbor has enough beer in him he may join you, although he will have more luck peeing in his pool than lifting one of your stones.

ah yes, curiousity lured the unsuspecting beer guy and tricked him into strongmaning.

that’s what happened to me with highland games

Even though my neighbor is a great guy he’s more of an aerobic guy. You know the guy who walks on the treadmill for leg development.

10/13
1.squats 315x3,365x3,405x5
2a.MP 145x3,165x3,185x5
2b.ring pullups BWx8,6,5
3.GM 135x6,155x6,175x6

This may be the best squat workout I’ve ever had. Absolutely no back pain. I’m not sure if its a longer warmup, stretching at work sometimes, db swings or taking the orthotics out of my shoes. My kees don’t even ache.

I’ve finally figured out I have plantar fasciitis. I talked to a runner with it and did some reading online and I have all the symptoms. I always thought plantar fasciitis was pain in the arch of the foot but its more pain in the heel. If anyone has any advice please share.

ECO- I roll my plantar tendon on a lacrosse ball two or three times a week…if I dont it kills…I do my heel all the way to ball of foot…I dont know if that would help you or not as I am not a DR. Nice Squatting by the way…and your stone lifts are just SICK!!

I’d see a doctor, that stuff is no joke and can last forever if not treated properly.
