New Hampshire Training

Thanks KMC. Back on track today. Even with the splurge last evening I’m down 1/2 lb for the weekend. Hoping to get some sprints in after work before I take my youngest to practice. Squats tomorrow.

9/19

hill sprints (25-30 yards)

1-5 sprints superset sledgehammer swings
6-10 sprints superset pushups or BW squats

My conditioning seems to be improving. Squats should be interesting tomorrow night.

On a roll Eco. Are you carb cycling ala Fischer’s council?
Great work. It’s got to feel good.

Thanks OP. I do feel good. I’m still just low carbing it. I’m switching to carb cycling like Fisher had suggested soon because my weight loss (and resolve) have stalled at 15 lbs.

I’m gonna get grief for saying this but why is it that every article about pistols has pictures of all these skinny guys but all the guys in squat articles are huge?

That tends to happen.

I think you’ll “enjoy” the carb cycling. I’ve been doing the low carb thing for soooo long now, it’s draining. Adding refeeds in has helped tremendously on both the mental and physical levels.

After two weeks I’ve had enough of low carb. I was so into it but now the thought of another protein shake or eggs only breakfast makes me want to puke. I’ll take the 15 lbs of weight loss and be happy with that.

great work.

Thanks MJ.

Today was my first high carb day. No lifting tomorrow so low carbs.

9/22
cleans 135x2,155x2,175x2,195x2,225x2
squats 315x5,335x5,405x5
MP 135x5,155x5,175x7
ring chins BWx5,5,5
bowflex chest press 260x16 ss pushups
split squats BWx5,5

Bowflex? How is that machine? a decent tool for conditioning?

blowfux? sounds like it’d make a good coatrack…

Matty, several years ago my wife bought this for me on my birthday. Personally I would have spent the money on a better rack and various other lifting toys. Its ok for higher rep training.

MJ,it would make a great coatrack or clothesline.

After reading MJ’s thread I decided to give db swings a go. More difficult then I thought.

9/23
db swing both hands

50x20x5 (100 total reps)
80x12,13 (25 total reps)

15-30 second pupps between some of the sets

9/24
1.top squat 150x10,200x10,240x10,290x10
2.bench 225x5,265x5,295x9
3a.goblet squat 80x10,10,10
3b.ring chins BWx6,5,5+4 cheats
3c.db swings 80x10,10,10
3d.MP 155x8,8,8

Got this workout in between my youngest son’s 2 hockey games. Everything felt good. Got really low (for me) with the goblet squats.

Love the KB swings, just started them myself, and find them difficult as well but fun…its great conditioning tool as well.

Like the squat and deadlift, db or kb swings seem to be more complicated then just swinging a weight back and forth.

Outdoor training tomorrow.

9/24

10 hill sprints in the dark. Came in at 12 am. My alarm is set for 6:30 am for hockey game…fuck…

9/28

goblet squat 50x10, 80x10
front squats 135x5,185x5,225x5,275x5,315x1
deadlift 165x2,255x2,345x2,435x2,525x0

stone lifting outside

Don’t know what the problem was but I couldn’t pull shit off the floor last night. I pulled 505x2 last week. Had a good stone lifting session though.

I would think that pulling from the floor and sone lifting wuld be a lot alike but obviously theres a difference.

Thats still a damn fine lifting day.

Thanks Joe. If you like to deadlift you’d like stone lifting. You need more upper body strength to lift stones then to deadlift though.

too much new stuff to try, not enough time. I’d love to give the stones a whirl, but i have no idea where i’d fit it in.
