New Hampshire Training

ddot, watching the sox right now. Sox have bases loaded. If you haven’t carried some stones you gotta try it. A lot of fun. And building a sled from an old tire is cheap and easy. I dragged it for time today. Great for GPP.

Matty, thanks for stopping in. The sox started the season like 0-11. Surprised its neck and neck right now. Keeps it fun to watch. Funny thing is since my kids started playing hockey several years ago I’ve maybe watched one Pats game. I need to start DVRing the games. Can you believe pre season is already here?

One bottle of wine down. Opening the second.

Yeah. I’m laying on the couch watching.

These games are so frickin long. Tex-Cle started at the same time and are almost 3 innings ahead.

PS: Matty, I’d be OK if the Pats went 2-14 as long as the 2 wins were against the J-E-T-S!
PSS: eco, wish I could drinking wine! Maybe come playoff time.

Just checking out your log. I really like what you’re doing here. 225lb stones are awesome. Did you make some or are these actual stones out of the ground?

I CANNOT WAIT !!! I cant tell you how excited I am…and and have a glass of vino for me!

ddot, there is something about sox-yankees games that make them take forever. I gave up and went to bed at 10. Two out of three. So that puts us a game or two up now right?

James, just stones in my yard. All over the place around here. Its a fun twist to the usual training.

Matty, I had two glasses for you.

It puts us 1 up. Man that was a long game which made for a short(er) sleep.

Hope the vino was good.

I’m loving the stone toting! I wish we had rocks here sometimes. I know you are having a boatload of fun with them. Way to go Steve!

DdOt, the wine did the trick.

JW,don’t know if the stone work is helping anything but it’s fun.

8/9
Box squat 325x5,375x5,425x5
MP 155x5,175x5,195x5
Db row 130x5,5,10
Ab rolls

Jeez, that’s some heavy lifting.

I’ve never carried stones before, but it seems to me that a 226 stone is a lot harder to lift then a 225 pound bar. I’m suitably impressed.

Re: Sox…10-2 for the season series is a great run!

The stone work has to be helping in some respect I’d imagine but even if it isn’t fun counts too.

You rock. I guess you also lift rocks…

Big box squat numbers. Do you pause on the box or are they more of a touch-and-go style?

MFM,too many stones around our parts to not pick one up and start walking. Soxs are fun to watch right now. Watched them lose last night to the twins.

Joe,its gotta be helping something. I hope.

Canada,I carry rocks. I have rocks in my head…

GTD,I pause on the bottom. I stay tight and try not to rock out of the hole. I’m still thousands of reps away from perfecting these.

Baseball needs a hard salary cap and for TV revenue to be split like in football.

Same. And same.

8/11
1.squats 135x10,225x10,275x10,315x10 (squats med foot width, as low as I could get)
2.deads 325x5,375x5,425x5
3a.db chest press 50x20,100x10,10,10
3b.chins BWx5,5,5,5

My back was smoked after squats. Deadlifts were interesting. A lot of stretching after every set.

Joe,I just know to take a family of 4 to s Red Sox game at Fenway with parking, food and a couple soveniers you’ll drop $500. Fenway is the most expensive ball park in baseball.

GTD,these lifts can be so technical.

Kind of a beginner question but what’s the correct way to wear a belt? I’ve always had the front below my gut. But watching some videos I see lifters have it belly button height. Have I been wearing it wrong?

This is the squat police just stopping by to make sure you are doing them every workout…carry on!!! Nice work by the way!! Cant help you with the belt I have no clue what is right or wrong…

Thanks OG. Compared to what you’ve been doing my workouts are easy.

8/13
stone carry-30 yards- 150,212,226 lb stones x 1 each
shoulder 212, 226 lb stones x 2 each
several random stone lifts
lift chest height 250 lb stone x 2
farmers carry-30yards- 245 lbs (total) x 2

315 x 10 for square?

OK, now you’re just pissing me off.
