  2. regular deads 315x6x3
  3. t-handle swings 100x5x10
  4. ab rolls 3x10

I pulled the first rep of 410 overhand without straps then wrapped up real quick and did reps 2 and 3. I hook gripped the first rep of 450 then strapped up for reps 2 and 3. Hook grip hurts like hell. I need to google it and see if I’m doing it wrong.

Solid work. If the hook grip hurts, I’d bet you’re doing it right. Does your thumb feel like it’s gonna explode from the pressure? Teammate tapes (athletic tape) the thumb from the top knuckle up. very similar to Oly lifters.

Hook grip good (I’m lucky that I have long fingers), especially if you accidentally touch your hair that has coconut oil in it.

"Z-man, you seem confused. Early dementia? "

Most likely, yes.

I should’ve said “300 swings is nuts man, I think I will start with 3 instead, and see how I feel”.

Car shopping? Pics on the way?
Good for you, good luck.

Hawkcapt1912, thanks for the advice. I’ll tape my thumbs next time.

Minimaltechno, I’m bald so no worries about coconut oil in my hair.

Z-man, we bought a 2012 nissam maxima. I’m pumped.

300 sledgehammer swings
300 jump ropes
15 chin-ups

I had to prove to my youngest I could do 15 chin-ups in a row. That’s why the chin-ups were thrown in.

Hook grip will destroy your thumbs if you’ve got thick fingers. Had to quit throwing the weights in highland games using it. Very strong back work.

My son has been doing sledge hammer swings too. In fact I purchased a longer handle for him last week. I think he is kind of impressing his football coach, in that he brings his own hammer. It must work, because the kid is getting pretty strong.

Thanks Harry. Hopefully some taping will help. And I’m sure my fingers are much smaller than your meaty digits. So maybe it will work for me.

I’m so happy to read your son is training like a beast and having it pay off. Hope he has a great football season.

3. 1 arm db shld press 60 x 3 sets
4. db upright row-db curls superset 40’s x 3 sets

Just went through the motions and checked this off the list of things to do.

Cool with the new ride. Once you attach the deadlift bar out the back, should be good to go!

Enjoy.

Congrats on the new vehicle. Unfortunately, I think there is one on my future as well. I am just trying to put it off as long as possible.

Nice lifting as well. The 15 chin-ups is uber impressive.

Ok so lets throw a chip upgrade into the ECU add a tuned exhaust for nice sound and drop the suspension down an inch, slap a set of 20 inch Versa Vendetta Black wheels with diamond edges on it with Perrelli P zero rubber and take the badges off the back so it looks clean.

Awesome , hope it works out well for you and the fam.

Thanks guys. I’m really happy with the new car. Rides great, comfortable and has a little kick when you step on the gas. And Paul I was thinking maybe some cheap rims and snow tires when the time is right. I’m not sure about all that other stuff.

Pulled out the top squat attachment tonight to give my shoulders a break. The attachment weighs 15 lbs so I had to think a little more putting weight on the bar. The bar sits much higher and feels tippy so it’s quite different than a straight bar.

I wasn’t sure about some of that stuff either. Why does East Carolina University need a chip?
Admittedly, I am not a car guy…as if I needed to point that out.

That looks like it would be a bit awkward. Maybe a lot of bit. How long does it take to acclimate to it?

Skip, I’m not a car either. It’s not difficult to get used to the top squat attachment it just feels a lot different than a straight bar.

1a. db bench 80’s x5x10
1b. Trap bar bent over rows 185x5x10
2a. Superset lateral raise with power tech squat shoulder press 3 sets
2b. Reverse flies 15x3x15
3. Several sets of curls

I threw in 3 or 4 sets of db upright rows with the 40s throughout the workout.

Congrats on the new car and the top squat attachment can be very helpful. Looks like that contraption is a bit of a challenge at first but worth it.
