New Hampshire Lifter

Steve absolutely try glucosamine/chondrotin/msm. My elbows killed me for days after any upper body work for a couple of years before I tried glucosamine/chondroitin combination. Within a month the pain was gone. That was over 15 years ago and really haven’t had any major joint issues since then.

Highly underrated supplement only because it is a commodity product now that none of the companies are making much money off of.

Lookin strong as ever, Steve. What are you now, 30?

Hey all. Great to see some of the old guard has returned.

Steve, it’s like that old favorite bar. You don’t go there very often anymore but it’s nice to know it’s there when you need to unwind,

stout work all around.

Ice is your friend with knees-
chill it for 15 mins a time til its like the cold room at costco

This place does have a calming effect. Chills me right out reading everyones’ threads.

Thanks Kevin. I always mean to ice aching parts but never get around to it. Do you ice before working out or after or both?

Got outside for a bit then a couple quick sets in the basement. Brought my chain outside to add weight for chin-ups. I used cement blocks for added weight. Each one weighs around 40 lbs (I looked it up).

outside:

  1. chin-up BWx3, +1 cement block x 3, +2 cement blocks x 3,3, +1 cement block x 5
  2. pull-ups BWx3,5
  3. 5 single stone lifts onto my big tire (chest height)

inside:

  1. deadlift 315x2x3
  2. MP 135x2x5

Are you back on the semi sumos?

Nice chin work with the blocks. Does that make you a block-head? Charlie Brown…Remember that song that goes, “Why’s everybody always pickin’ on me…Charlie Brown…he’s a clown,” or something like that. Sorry, I was just ranting.

I ice many many times a day - on this fucked up knee.
I ice first thing in the morning- and wear one on the commute

I ice post work out at PT they iced both pre and post in the beginning

they ice for 10-15 minuts paired with a tens unit
very effective

cement blocks FTW
nice work

I’ve been rotating the regular, semi-sumo and trap bar. But semi-sumo is still my favorite.

Its not the chin-ups with the blocks that make me a block head. Showing your age with that song.

Thanks Kev. The icing seems like a full time job.

Well…that just about covers it. Not many more muscles that can be worked.
12 oz. curls should finish it off nicely.

I may have gone a little overboard with the beers and Jim Beam. But we had a ton of laughs.

Matty’s bicep tear video still has me freaked so I did all sldl overhand. I used straps with 405 but tried to make up for using them with timed holds and wrist rolls.

That is a real strong session, 350x10 squatting followed up by 405x3 sldl from a large deficit= very nice work.
