New Hampshire Lifter

8/12

  1. 4 rounds:
    30 sledge hammer swings
    15 push-ups
    5 chin-ups
  2. 3 long stone carries
  3. walking lunges with empty bar
  4. 28’’ vertical jumps

Stone carries are right up there with 20 rep squats. I feel a little nervous before every carry.

Ahhh, I see the stones have made a cameo !! Great stuff Steve, training looks hard and productive!

Thanks Paul. I keep thinking I’ll be stuck in the basement really soon so I can’t help but want to train outside.

I may have worked out a little to hard over the past several days. Everything aches and I don’t feel quite right. A few beers and a good nights sleep is in order.

No beam. Just some ghetto Natty Ice. 7 deep right now.

Thanks for the tips on exercises with the end of the olympic bar. I will probably use them soon.

Thank you for getting me to remember these exercises. I did some curls with the bar end today while my kids worked out.

8/16

  1. 5 super-sets
    zercher squat 135x8
    200’ run

  2. over head carry 135x4x100’

I dragged two stands outside for zerchers followed by a short run. I planned on zerchering much more but after the first round I was already really winded so I kept it light.

8 rounds:
chin-ups BW x 5-8
push-ups BW x 10-25
short hill sprint
walk back to chin-up bar

I did this almost non-stop. I think my conditioning is actually improving.

I like that conditioning drill, I may want to do this…thanks bro!

Thanks Matt. My chin up bar is at the bottom of my hill so it was a no brainer set up.

I’m going back and reading everything I can find by these three guys : Paul Carter, Dan John, Jim Wendler

Just great stuff.

I agree I tend to enjoy all of those guys thoughts on programming…the last dan john article was especially eye opening for me.
