New Hampshire Lifter II

Paul, I’m not sure how much this stuff really adds but it’s a lot of fun to use. Like playing with a new toy on Christmas. And I’m feeling pretty good. No major aches or pains.

Like playing with a new toy at Christmas, I think, is the whole point. It’s all a fun life style involving great guys.

Keepin’ it fun Biker. That’s what I’m all about.

My son has a hockey game tonight so I had to workout when I got home from work. UPS just delivered my bands so I didn’t get to use them.

Tried the bands this morning. I doubled up the bands on each side to get the desired tension. Lifting early on a Saturday is not my favorite thing. I think I underestimated the added weight of the bands. I worked a little too hard and had to stop after squats.

I used the light bands today with close grip bench after MP. Just looping the bands like a U had the 120 lb dbs floating off the ground. So I had to trial and error looping the bands around. And don’t try bands with MP. The bar is all over the place.

I like to train with bands too. It give a whole different feel. I found you have to be careful though.

Crippler, you’re right it’s a different feel. Actually a little scary at first with the bar wanting to move all over the place. But I think I’m going to like them.

Sent in my openers for the meet just now. Squat 465 bench 365 deadlift 515. Not sure why I’m nervous about these. I do reps with these training.

Get someone to video your meet lifts.

I was going to ask about a meet; no kidding.

Gym for reps= smart openers. Won’t get a argument around here I don’t think.

Eric, I remember reading somewhere that your openers should be something you could lift even if you had the flu. My son injured his back several months ago that required physical therapy and he was out of the gym for a bit. So he’s just really getting back into it now. It will just be me competing on Dec 2nd.

550 felt really heavy. Not sure I’m going to break my meet best of 600.

550 is heavy for normal people. You were just experiencing a short burst of normal. It’ll pass.
