New Hampshire Lifter II

Thanks all. I’m amazed the meet on Aug 21 is already sold out. Glad I got my name in on time. Hopefully pull and bench a little more than I did last weekend. To bad Skip can’t come. I’m sure my son would give up his spot for him. The benchblokz worked well tonight.

you and your son are both strong,
cant wait to see if my son ever wants to train.

great job all around

Nice work, Steve. bench and more bench… Glad that the bench-majiggy worked well.

And there is no way I would let your son give up his spot. Yes, the one he doesn’t know he has. He actually has potential!

Strong benching and pulling along with all that walking is great GPP.

Thanks guys.
Kev, I’m sure your son will be into wrestling and training or into some kind of sport.
Skip, I’m figuring with this bench gadget I should be pressing 500 in no time.
GV, I need to walk more. It seems to help with some of my aches.

I tried to do some skull crushers with the neutral grip football bar but my elbows wouldn’t have any part of it.

Actually, Steve, it wouldn’t surprise me if you one day hit 500#, even if only a touch and go.

Good work Steve. We have a ton of meets in this area and it is hard to believe how quickly a lot of them are selling out.

I’m with you on the skull crushers. I gave them up years ago as they did much more harm to my elbows than they did good for my triceps.

I like your positive attitude Skip. I’ll have to buy a stronger bench if that ever happens.

Dave, powerlifting seems to be popular. Lifting in my basement for the past 16 years has me clueless to what people are doing in the gyms these days.

My youngest turns 15 tomorrow. How did I get so old?

Got outside for a bit last evening. Black flies were a little thick but the weather was perfect. I’m hoping to get a sledgehammer workout in tonight.

As soon as I finished my workout my oldest asked me to squat with him. So I tried some front squats. I’m a bit excited because I had no pain. I threw in a set of MP with 225 after my front squat. Its so much easier doing MP from the rack.

front squats 135x3 185x3 225x3 (MP 225x5) 275x2 315x1
big tire x 10 flips

Good all around lifting. 315 front squat after not doing them for a while is good.

That is some solid military press and front squat work. Especially cleaning the weight from the floor.

That’s a ton of work with the pressing and front squatting.

Yes, pressing from the rack is the way to go…unless you’re Harry.
Hard to ensure your setup when cleaning it first.

Hope you and your family are well…workouts look as solid as ever. I hate black flies…they are one pesky annoyance!

Thanks all. I could barely get off the couch Saturday night and Sunday. I had to replenish my fluids and energy stores (beer and snacks). Front squats went so well on Saturday I did them again last night.

Skip, now you’ve got the right idea.

I didn’t write down the 21st workout so it’s as accurate as I can remember. I have today off so I got the workout in early.
