New Hampshire Lifter II

Happy belated birthday.

Thanks minimal. 46 and still feeling pretty good.

Drove almost 8 hours to northern Delaware today. But got up early and hit the basement. Nothing was heavy but damn everything felt heavy.

Deadlifts warm-up 260x3 300x3 340x3 380x1 420x1 460x1
Powertec squats 3 pps x10,10,10
a. Sit ups 3 sets
b. Forearm rolls 3 sets

Happy birthday!

My son played Major AA last year (U18) and is doing prep this fall. Sounds like a slightly different setup? But perhaps we would overlap at something like Silver Sticks or the like. Let me know if you’re traveling to any major tourneys this fall/winter.

Why would you have to bring your grip in to bench at a meet? Are you wider than 81 cm? Oddly, I use the maximum width grip, which is really odd for a small female with a repaired shoulder.

It’s the weather. Everything feels heavy over here as well.
Of course, in your case, 460# is supposed to feel heavy. Mainly because it is…

KP, bringing my grip in because my right shoulder can’t handle regular width right now. And I think all my son’s tournaments are local so we may not cross paths.

Skip, early lifting isn’t for me. Standing up before noon feels heavy sometimes.

Threw in some pulls in the beginning for a warm-up. Really seemed to help with my shoulder pain.

Very strong work, Steve.

Facepulls used to help but for some reason the last few times actually hurt. Weirdly the push press has been alright though whereas before it wasn’t, especially with the lowering part. But glad yours is feeling better.

Was also thinking of taking a leaf out of your book and trying semi sumos, once I’m done with the last cycle of CT’s thing.

Thanks all. Having to train intelligently really stinks. And Mini looking forward to you semi sumo cycle.

Went heavier than I wanted to so next week I need to keep deadlifts light. I don’t want to burnout to early in this cycle.

Must be nice to be able to go in there and lift 500#+ on a whim.

Strong, strong, strong…

Strong work Steve, 360 close grip is serious strength.

Quietly there is some very strong lifting going on in here.

Thanks all. It’s been a couple weeks and training is going well. No pains I can’t work around. So I’m planning on competing in the Nov 21 meet Paul told me about. Just bringing a belt and chalk. I think that’s considered raw.

It’s been so long since I squatted 500 and it felt really heavy. Heavier than I remembered. So I’m planning on doing some walkouts with heavier weights.

Steve-

The meet in Nashua sold out… there is a meet in Peabody, Ma on the 28th… at a place called Gym Warriors its an Elite Powerlifting Federation event ( as if that matters).

Moving that 500 and getting grease back in the grooves is a good feeling. Any expectations for the meet your’re planning?

I can’t remember: have you competed before? Lots of us over here doing meets. I can’t get over how early meets are filling.

Wow Paul more than two months away and already full. Never thought that would happen. I’ll have to check into the other meet.

GV, I’d like to dead and squat 600 and bench at least 415. But reality may be something different.

KP, I’ve done a full meet and a push/pull. But both were several years ago. Powerlifting must be catching on filling up meets real early.
