New Gym Location in Phoenix

Cezar Can give you a tour. he should be around off and on through the day. We are finalizing the paper work in terms of insurance and memberships. That has slowed us down some, but nothing to worry about.

The gym number is listed on the web site and also a little higher up in this thread, give him a call. I work too damn much other places so i don’t get in there as much as i would like.

Thanks for keeping on it.

This gym looks great, I got to take a look at it yesterday. I’ve never had the opportunity to work out with some of the equipment, so I’m really looking forward to it. A real GHR and Reverse Hyper, (which my college gym had, but I was too much of a noodle-armed choir boy to know how cool it was) all kinds of bands, straps, chains, an atlas stone that I couldn’t even get off the floor, and a bunch of other good stuff.

It seems like it will attract the right kind of people to create an awesome atmosphere.

The only thing I didn’t like was that there were no preacher curl and ab crunch machines.

Seriously, you guys did a hell of a job.

Use a pin in the power rack, and call it even  for no preacher curl.

I heard there’ll be a lot of power lifters around. That’s great, and sucks at the same time. Once again, I’ll be the weakest bitch at the gym. At least there’ll be guys around to push me more than I push myself. I’ll get man-strong one of these days, dammit!

Looking forward to giving you money.

Nope, that title is mine.

My only concern with the equipment you guys have is that I’ll have to creatively alter the program I’m doing that includes leg curls, extensions, and calf raises.

An ankle cuff on a low pulley and a bench will cover the curls and ext and the calf raises can be done on the power squat. Problem solved…

We’re waiting on some paperwork to get faxed from the insurance company. It will be completed soon and we’ll have coverage and can open the doors.

Just to let everyone know, this gym is a living beast. It will evolve over time, more space, additional equipment, etc.

Ahhhhh! Weightroom ingenuity. I can’t wait to meet the whole crew over there. I have a feeling I’m going to learn a lot, and grow, physically, to the same degree.

Damn, a real gym with real gym goers. Sounds like a plan!

or the express lane to the twitch bin.

Also, before i forget that i forgot… There is an APF bench meet this saturday morning in Tempe.

The best route for details is to e-mail azapf@cox.net

Make sure you tell them that zak at Strengthworks sent ya. we are trying to set up some sponsorship with these guys and the more people that get in touch with them and say they heard it from us the better.

A few extra notes.

in the near future the gym will be getting a set of stones and some custom made strongman implements.

There will also be a records board for the competitive lifters, it will be by wt class, individual lift, and total.

The gym WILL be open for business starting saturday afternoon.

The membership rates are on the web site and there will be a special for ALL T-Nation members that come in.

Questions or directions, drop me a line and i will get you sorted out.

Thanks for sticking with us and we will see you soon.

Clever man.

it’s endless. too many years as a trainer and trying to keep clients entertained, (something they never tell you about when you get certified) and having to workout in hole in the wall gyms.

necessity being the mother of invention and all…

the gym is open!

nuff said!

glute ham and reverse hyper

DB’s

Pulldown, row, crossover

Is that a keg I see in the corner? In your web page pics that is. And where you hiding all the plates???

Here we are giving out this first membership to Strength Works. this guy hit 590 at 242 at the APF Southwestern Bench meet today.

It was great to be able to get out with the guys and go to a meet knowing that all the hard work that was put into the gym was about to start reaping rewards.

very cool.
