Thanks - but on the previous site clicking ‘recent activity’ in any of the log groups (eg ‘training logs’) would bring up a list of just the new posts in that group. Was a great quick reference to see all the recent posts across a variety of threads, rather than now having to click on each thread (unless I’m missing something?).
@raven78, from the main forum page, if you select a forum category from the drop down menu (“All Categories”), it will take you to the recent activity for that forum. It will highlight the “Latest” category for viewing, and there are also options to filter posts by “Unread,” “Top,” and “New.”
Solid info thanks Mod Phoenix.
I still can’t get a list of just the new posts across any specific category - I’ll continue to play with the buttons though. Thanks.
I agree with the masses. I like the new non page app style but visually and for my eyes yellow on black was much easier.
Also the white back ground kills my eyes, drains my phone more and is more insomnia prone.
Would be great if we could adjust in our settings or so…
The only thing I would say is that the white background is hard on the eyes. I do like all of the new functions you couldn’t use before though.
Gotta tell ya - I don’t see any whining going on here.
Of course, I’m biased because I prefer the old look. And I also realize T-Nation wants to increase their online presence so they made what they perceive to be an improvement.
So I gave it a few days before responding. And the new format does have some more user friendly features.
But the overall feel is…cotton candy.
I withdrew my first comment about hating this format. I actually like it - it’s WAY easier to write and edit posts than it was before.
But I agree with other posters that this social-media-style flowing approach is sucky. I liked the boxes enclosing the posts - gave you a sense of who was talking when. Now it’s too-free flowing and it is, indeed, tough to follow conversations.
I really only post in a couple threads in the combat forum so I don’t really give a shit, but I do feel bad for those who post a lot more in varied threads. Good luck understanding who’s talking when.
And yes, the black background was far better. Far, far better.
The new format is not as good as the old, both visually and in user friendliness.
It also seems to be a ploy to clean up the image of the site, as the Pharma forums can only be accessed by going to the forum page, rather than through the drop down menu. Pharma is now right down at the bottom, so you really need to search for it. A new user may not even know there is a specific place to discuss steroid usage and TRT.
The thing I found refreshing about Tnation was that it didn’t try to hide or downplay bodybuilding/sports dirty little secret of PED’s.
Unless I’m missing something, isn’t there still a dedicated forum on the subject, with an IFBB pro available to answer questions about it? Doesn’t sound like downplaying to me. So you have to click another button to get there, not a big deal. It’s probably the only resource like that on the web for people who choose to take advantage of it.
Oh my godddd why does this “system” keep harassing me about old-ass threads???
If I get one more notification about a thread started in 2009 I’m going to punch this fucking computer.
I actually think that’s great. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed re-reading 4 or 5 old threads over the course of the last week.
Yea, but why is it notifying me about them like they’re new and need attention? Why harass users reminding them about seven year old threads that had four posts?
It’s utterly ridiculous
I could be wrong, but I think it has something to do with the images loading (rather than links). I’m not sure though, it is kind of annoying.
Might have to redo your notification setting, mine was changed when the switch went over.
Also still not getting use to the white background…
Hey Rob. If you read carefully I never said they got rid of the steroid /HRT forum. You are right its not a big deal to have to click an extra button, to access it. It is however less efficient, making the new changes open to complaint. Why have a feedback area if the mod’s are not prepared to take notice of negative feedback as well as positive? The majority of feedback that I have read about the “new look” are negative, when compared to the efficiency of the old site.
My complaint was not just out of my personal concern, but as I had stated, for someone new to the site, looking for facts about steroid usage. A newbie is very unlikely to even find out about section, because it doesn’t exist in the dropdown menu. Can anyone give me a reasonable explanation why the steroid forum is not on the dropdown menu? Are there any other forums that have been left out, and I just don’t know about it?

There’s no “ploy” or conspiracy in action. The forum, from everything I can see, is featured on the homepage and in all dropdown menus. If you’re seeing different, try to grab a screenshot and we can get the tech guys to figure out what’s what, as it may be a standalone issue on your end. Plenty of vets and new members have been posting in the Pharma section since the switch.
Everything is still available and viewable to all members. No sections are being downplayed, disregarded, or hidden.

Not gonna lie. I cracked a smile when I saw this notification the other day:
![]()
But, @FightinIrish26, I’ll try finding out about the older notifications, if there’s a preference setting or a default change or whatnot.
Chris - thank you.
I too sort of enjoy reading the old threads, and I like that we can go through them. But I don’t like that the system “notifies” you of it, like it’s something important or relevant that you must check right now.
It just doesn’t make sense.
