Okay let’s make this quick and simple all right this is for people who are new or possibly unfamiliar with the word interface that t Nation provides for us in this digital community that we have right here! To be honest with everyone I myself am new and am having some minor difficulties so anyone with tips or hot keys or anything to make life easier here let’s here it or maybe a question about how to do something let’s here it !!!
I’ll start this off “ why do I keep making duplicate entries ?”
Anyone lol I keep deleting advice I was trying to give because it appears I posted it 3 times and I’m like shit so I delete them all..I get frustrated and we’ll friends we care back here lol
Lol. Are the duplicates new? Cause they just changed things today and now comments are showing multiple times. My assumption is that it’s meant to make it easier to follow an individual conversation within a thread but it’s just giving me a headache.
That’s a new feature that shows the replies to a post in a little drop down menu. I also hate that, tbh. That’s probably the worst of the new features I’ve noticed recently since it clutters everything so much.
For anyone struggling with how to format, look up how to format on Discourse, then basic HTML. That will go a long way.
I’m mildly irked by the change that when (on a phone) you click the T-nation header it takes you to a weekly top focus menu of all topics, rather than just to the topics main page like it used to.
I love this forum and I work in change management, so I recognise my own resistance to change isn’t that helpful, but I really see no need for these changes, no one seems to have asked for them or want them (stakeholder consultation and pilot testing go a long way to ensuring you don’t drive away your end users).
I won’t quote it because but I do appreciate @Acappital’s beautifully positive OP. That said…
CHANGE IS BAD.
I scroll Facebook, etc, with zero willingness to discuss because the formatting is so tortuous to me. With message board formatting I may start reading a thread with one perspective and by the time I reach the end of the thread find myself influenced by subsequent posts. I love that the conversation evolves through the various inputs as we go. The current formatting creates sub-convos. It’s too much. I just want to post a snippet of it and say “THIS. This is the piece with which I agree or don’t.”
I’m sad. And hopeful that this is just the glitch period before the adjustment to something better.
I agree. Hopefully they will get it sorted out soon. I think it’s their answer to the “unread” button. I can’t find anything until I go to the all categories button.
BSL and Training Logs got folded together into one category. Definitely not a fan of that at all, that’s so unnecessary.
Also with this new layout it’s virtually impossible to filter and view by subcategory (or even see a list of the subcategories at all) which is absolutely maddening.
Edit: also the Training subcategory (not Training Logs, just Training–formerly Bigger Stronger Leaner) is impossible to filter or view just that subcategory. You can’t view just the former BSL threads in a list without them being insanely cluttered by all the Training Logs.
I don’t want to be overly critical and I’m not coming at this from a mean angle, so please don’t take it that way…and I’m all for trying new things! but pretty much all the new changes recently really make the user experience much more frustrating.@moderators@admins
