New Fat Fast Support Group

Mark, I`ve never had any problems with nosebleeds and fat fast - the longest I ever did fat fast was around 25 days. I was using ephedrine and caffeine the first time I did it but not aspirin, so that could be the cause but I really have no idea. Be careful with yourself.

Cheers cl, I’ll keep an eye on it. I’m sure I’m losing fat now. Some vascularity is starting to come through on my pecs and delts (it’s always there first…), and my abs are visible now. The strange thing is that I’m not really losing any total weight! It’s just not going! I’ve not even lost 5lbs after 9 days of Keto-ing. But! I’m leaning out! I think it’s a combination of NOT dropping the calories too drastically (1600), taking in carbs after a workout, and NOT doing any cardio at all. My sleep is sh!thouse, but it doesn’t seem to be effecting me adversely, yet. Either way, 6 weeks of this and I’ll be pretty shredded, I have no doubt! Damn I’m excited!!! [dances a jig]

I’ve never used an ECA stack, but my nose often bleeds anyway. Maybe it has nothing to do with what you’re taking? That aside, I’m done with the Fat Fast and had myself calipered last night by a few trainers. On a four-site test I ranged between 11.5 and 14.5%. I’d say that I’m closer to the high end, given I don’t trust the suprailiac reading taken by the trainer who gave me the low reading. I’m still not comfortable carrying that amount of fat I am, and want to get down into single-digits. Yesterday (Monday), I started on 2200 calories using Massive Eating combos. I’m 5 foot 8 and 167/8 pounds and I’m not really sure whether I should up the calories a bit and really pound the weights and cardio, or keep them at that level and train at a more sane level? I’ve put on a fair bit of mass this year using a medium-low volume approach with little to no cardio, if that has any bearing on how I should go from here.

Hey BB - I’ve read in a few places over the years that when cutting up it’s better to do more exercise than cut calories as this preserves more muscle. You might wanna keep that in mind and reconfigure your program around that point.

Well T Dudes, I have taken the plunge… Day 3 of Fat Fast, and so far it dosen’t seem to hard (Although I don’t think I’ve hit full Ketosis yet so who knows)

Just looking for comments on what I am doing thus far. To give you the background - 32yo, 197cm (6ft51/2"), 113kg (248.6lbs) and 21%bf.
From the stats, you can see why I am taking the radical approach. Anyway currently I am taking in approx 1500cal per day (assuming BMR is about 2480cal). 5 Meals a day from 30gm WPI and 14gm Flax, 6th meal steak, Coleslaw with Olive Oil and vinegar dressing which should give me about the right Protein & Fat with 5gms of Carbs. (I just couldn’t face 6 liquid meals a day).
The #1 thing which concerns me is the Fibre Intake, I am currently taking approx 15gms of Psyllum Husks twice a day to give approx 28gms of fibre - However psyllum husks are still carbs (of a sort) - Are these an issue or not?

#2 - Should I be dropping the number of calories per day? 1500 Cal per day appears to be a fair bit for Fat Fast, even if I am a big lard @rse.

Any comments welcome as I plan on going the best part of 28days and ripping off a load of fat…

Plain psyllum husks have no calories and therefore no carbs. Now if you’re using something like Metamucil then it does have carbs…from maltodextrin. So get yourself some plain fiber like Colon Cleanse or Colon Pure. Same thing as Metamucil, no flavoring. It’s nasty, but if you can do the Fat Fast then you can take it.

MS - personally I’d leave it at 1500 calories to begin with, at least for another couple of days, just to see how your body responds. If nothing seems to be happening, drop the calories by, say, 200. Wait another 4-5 days, then drop it again if need be. It’s all about experimentation bud.

As for me, my body seems to be quite happy in ketosis. Still leaning out, not dropping weight though, keeping the muscle, meltdown training going well. It’s day 10. Keep it up folks!

Chris - thanks for the comment, I thought I was taking plain ol’ Psyllum Husks (bought from the health food store)- looks like well, husks, mixes up to the consistency and taste of glue if you leave it for a minute or two  I’ll go back and check the macronutrients on the pack and try to figure out exactly what it is.

OK folks, like I mentioned a while back, I’ve started putting up the ins and outs of my cutting cycle on my website. I began by being real visually creative, but soon got bored and just resorted to predominantly plain text. It’s bare bones at the moment, and only some diet info is up, but there’s a few things that may be of help or interest. I’ll add more as I have the time to do so. Check it out here Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos Advice and tips on the site or my methods are appreciated. Day 11. The fat is still moving, but it’s slow. I expect I’ve dropped my metabolism through the floor. Monday will bring with it a few changes though… I’ve still fot a few tricks up my sleeve…! [evil grin] Nose bleeds have stopped, I think they were from the Aspirin.

Well, damn near the end of day number 4, and it dosen’t seem to be too much of an issue thus far. Lost maybe 7 lbs to date - probably most of it water, but I love the instant gratification! I don’t think I have kicked into ketosis yet though… Does anybody have any feedback on how long it should take to make the change? Bearing in mind that I have never done a Keto diet in my life…

Nice work Mark - keep it up. I use fitday.com for my calorie/macro tracking - it might be easier than doing the whole spreadsheet thing? Although I guess I’m just used to it. I haven’t binged/cheated/strayed from my post-FF at all this week, and I’ve been eating carbs for 5 days now. I settled upon 2200 calories at about 45P/25C/30F. In other words, 3 P+C meals and 3 P+F meals. I’m training 5 times a week, each session lasts an hour including 20 minutes of post-weights cardio. Post FF I’m leaning out nicely and should be in single digits by Christmas, the Aussie summer, and its beaches.

Yesterday was the last day of my fat fast. Today I will start slowly working my way back into carbs and calories. I know this will be the most important part of the diet so I can keep the losses I’ve made. Wish me luck, the cravings are already starting.

Its day 4. No problems with the eating. Carbs have been <30g/day and cals are low (800-1000). I’m trying this as a VLCD/keto diet supported by Finasol (w/Nandrosol). Weight hasn’t changed as much as last time. I’ve dropped from 196# to 189# and I’m “extremely” flat. Popping 3 MD6 & T2, 6 Tribex and 1g Vitex/day.

Yeah, my roomate just ordered pizza, what are your thoughts about gutting him and then eating him for extra protein, hey even Brock had Tuna and eggs every once in a while.
