yeah i got 4th for the teen strongman nats two years ago weighed 270ish, and then lost 90 for bball but I may be done with scholastic basketball (graduated hs) I might do this comp in naperville for nas next month 40 days away. it has 450 tire dl for reps, 210 log press, stone carry, and atlas stones at the end, look fun. LOL so do you compete SMB?

Shit you lost a lot of weight haha. How much strength did you lose when losing all that weight? You look like a tall guy too.

And I have just done a couple powerliting meets so far, next one is mid-august.

currently at my strongest, I gained weight for SM because everywhere on the internet the forms are like eat eat eat, and I didn’t notice I was mostly getting fat! LOL!

ooh nice good luck what are your goals for the meet?

Just gotta make sure you are making strength increases with the weight you are gaining, eat enough to improve not more. The numbers on the scale don’t mean much if you aren’t performing better.

I am going to try to drop back down to 181 and total mid-high 1400s, don’t know if I will make it down though lol. Getting too used to bulking and the diet I started is already pissing me off. HA!

what kind of training center? general? oly? powerlifting? strongman?

you can always come over to do strongman events at my house in Aurora

our center is all of the above to some extent

I’d love to do some strongman training @ yer place, what kind of set up do you have?

just some weights, 7 atlas stones, axle, farmers,

hit this 640 on saturday, might as well post: - YouTube

also quick question: thinking about reducing upper body training for two weeks… then basketball is over and I don’t need cardio and I can get used to the added muscle weight gradually. My upper body seems to grow easier then lower body so that is why. I am doing smolvo so that is tough on the body already a little. my 1) PRIORTY NOW IS HAMSTRINGS/QUADS/GLUTES how much upper training should I drop? (I play bball on mondays and shoot around sometimes other days of the week)

u live in illinois? i do. ive been lookin to start competing in powerlifting. u just a strongman or do u like to do both?

You’d probably be doing 700 if you actually used your hips when you pulled. The straps are fucking you up. Don’t get me wrong, I am not one of those assholes that is all “straps are for pussies” but they do screw up everyones deadlift. You stay down too long and there is no way to load up your hamstrings/glutes when you are preoccupied with getting the straps right.

You try to load them after you’ve been crouched down (which is way you roll the bar away and then back to you) but its not the same. That technique only really works for a few, very strong people.

That is a ridiculous deadlift though. It would be even more ridiculous if you get your technique spot on.

OK I use straps because I do hook grip sometimes too and wanted to wait till I was around 7 mark to get the hook grip going again. Thanks for checking it out, and I’ll def. try to fix things, wait r u saying I am not very strong?!!! LOL jk not yet.

and CSeagle: Yeah there is a strongman contest in naperville next month I know, I am not sure when the next powerlifting meet is around Iliinois, maybe check pl-watch. (yes I have done both)

That’s crazy strong for your age/weight man. How long have you been lifting for?

2 thumbs way up!
