New All Time Squat and Total Records

That’s just amazing. Shawn Frankl with 2470 @198 is just outstanding.

liar! I’m calling you out

Am I reading this wrong? Because it sounds like you just said you bench 748lbs for 10reps as opposed to Andy’s 704lb single. I’m thinking a typo…actually, make that I’m HOPING a typo…

oh boy, this thread is about to get good

Yeah- looks like legit depth. In fact, that’s probably the deepest 1200+ squat so far.

It blows me away though how some of these guys can squat weights they don’t stand up with. I have a training partner that has mastered this. It seems like a good trick- kind of like taking a “soft handoff” on bench. I just feel like if I don’t start my descent from a locked hip position, I have zero control over where me and the barbell go.

squatting 1155 then benching 900… could use some work on the deadlift… sad that he benched more then he deadlifted but DAMN thats just insane.[/quote]

I’d expect that kind of result to happen if he could get hundreds of pounds from his squat and bench suits. I think he’s gotten very efficient at it. Once people get even more efficient using suits, expect the squat and bench to rise by a couple hundred pounds within the next few years while the deadlift WR stays near where it is right now.

Damn the legs on that guy squating 1250, holy shit that guy is sick!

Damn insane those squats look dangerous though but thats part of the game I guess.

Looks to be almost certainly deeper than Mike Miller’s record squat which was broken.

If they keep the judging that strict, it might be a while before this one gets broken.

Yeah, that EIGHT HUNDRED POUND deadlift sure is the weak link in his change.

Anyone that can pull 800 pounds off the floor is pretty much tits as far as deadlifting goes, imho.

did he get massive nosebleed in that squat? It looked like he did to me but not sure. Seems happened to andy bolton also during his 12k+ squat. This extreme powerlifting is incredibly dangerous I wouldn’t be surprised if one day you hear about a death in the squat or bench press. The weight they are handling is just ridiculous and there pushing the human body to such and extreme, pretty interesting to see how far it goes though.

About the depth of the squat - You can hear one guy (his coach or one of his training I assume) saying “Padni, padni, padni, padni” at about 00:25 - 00:28, which means “go down” or “fall” in Russian.

I think what was being said is that 800lbs is good, but his bench and squat are great. If there was a lift to bring up I think it would be deadlift because I seen him squat 800 raw for easy reps.

That’s wierd. His multi-rep raw squat is heavier than his 1RM suited deadlift. Relatively speaking, yeah, it wouldn’t hurt to get his DL numbers closer to his squat.

It’s hard to believe a guy who can squat this much can deadlift less.

But from the looks of this video, he can deadlift more.

I have literally shot blodout my nose once and had little trickles a couple other times. Most guys pop blood vessels in their eyes- some lifters are more prone to this than others. Really, it doesnt even take big weight to get these effects. I think I did the shooting-blood-trick taking a 505 box squat in a suit.

I know. I was just being facetious.

It’s probably just because he’s so big. Can’t imagine it’s easy getting down to the bar when you’re 300+.

No, this is actually true. Note, however, that this kid has nine arms, making it fairly easy. This is also why we haven’t seen him in any meets.

I would say its more likley a case of letting your squat train your deadlift. That and wide squats wont help your conventional very much.

But yeah, its not easy to get a good pull when you weigh that much.

I shot that video, it’s from a raw meet. Donnie had squatted 855 (redlighted on depth - bull$#!+) and benched soemwhere around 6.

I think it’s important to remember that his 795 deadlift this past weekend was the last lift in a competition where he had already subtotaled 2055, an ENORMOUS amount of stress on the body. In fact now that I think about it, I’m impressed that his deadlift was only 5 lbs less than at New England Record Breakers
