Quite a few of the guys who lift in the IPF/USAPL wear a heeled shoe. I squat fairly narrow, pretty much the same as Hanley. It feels more comfortable and I never have a problem hitting depth.

I wouldn’t say that I squat narrow now… just not stupid multiply wide.
True enough. But if you don’t say “narrow” and your talking about power lifting people automatically seem to assume you squat like Chuck V.

Do you guys know where I can buy the new AdiStars? Or will I have to wait until the Olympics start?
for whoever is interested here in the U.S., I called dynamic fitness yesterday and they said their initial inventory of the shoes will arrive in ``2 to 3 weeks’’ and they are accepting preorders now.

^^Did they quote you a price?

I need to stop clicking on this thread. I do not need a new pair of $200+ lifting shoes.

Haha after you guys said heel for squats i did notice i like heel on closer full squats and front squats and for my powrstance squats i like no heel and i go about same as hanley but for someone of 6’ 4’’

You know you are going to buy them eventually. Might as well succumb to the siren song now rather than endure the self torture.

I put off buying some shoes for a long time, and eventually bought a pair of Do-Win’s. I am kicking myself for not buying them sooner. I DL in frees but could not think of Olympic lifting or squatting without the Do-Win’s.

Didn’t know that, no need to switch then.

Just got an email from Dynamic Eliko. They are offering the new shoes at a prebuy price of $200.

I have needed oly shoes for close to 2 years, they are going to last me a long time. I’m buying the new ones dammit and I’m going to enjoy them. I’ll get you all a review once they show up.

Monopoly

LOL
I got my Adidas on E-bay for $80. Must have fallen off a truck or something.

Does anyone else lift in these? I switched to these about 2 months ago and these have been my favorite training shoe ever. Just like lifting barefoot but with traction. And they are only $80.

how is the support? I do not know if I would run in those, maybe deadlift but not squat probably. Is the grip good on them? Kind of expensive also.

Yeah. I have mixed feelings about the new Nikes. They look so-so, but im more concerned about the plastic heel. I would have to see and feel a pair of them in person to make a decision.
I don’t understand. The heels looks elevated? Looking taller is nice, but how does that help with weight lifting? It looks like a running shoe, except that it hasn’t got an arch.

Are you asking why a heeled shoe is good for weightlifting?

Yes. Your weight is supposed to be on your heels, not your toes.
