NeuroGain

I’m sure i’ll get a bunch of shit for this post, but here it goes.
There is nowhere in my area to buy Biotest products, and i dont have a credit card and borrowing my friends’ gets old. I so have access to eas products, though, and i was wondering if their neurogain was any good compared to Power Drive?

Neurogain is bad! Some of the ingredients don’t do things that you really want them to do (St. John’s Wort). You’re probably better off with something like Ultimate Orange or some kind of ephedrine/caffeine mix.

See if it still has st. johns wort in it. If it does then i wouldn’t waste my money. If it doesn’t then I’d go ahead and get it. If not then just go to any health food store and purchase the component parts of power drive…l -tyrosine, gingko biloba, and DMAE. You’ll end up saving money anyway

Try the choline coctail from Twinlab. It tastes like shit but its got alot of the same ingredients as powerdrive. Youll have to add some tyrosine though.

Neurogain really sucks. EAS wouldn’t refund my money either when I tried to sent it back. Just ask your local supp store to get you some Biotest stuff. They’ll usually hook you up. Power Drive rules.

To the best of my knowledge, Neurogain was originally a concept and product formulated way back by Charles Poliquin in the days when he was an eminent writer for Muscle Media. The addition of St. John’s Wort was not his idea and definitely not in his formula, and was dumbfounded by the idiotic inclusion of the herb. Avoid. Use your mates credit card. Maybe using your friends’ one gets old, but better off old than drowsy before workouts AND old!

I’ve thought about your idea before, but i can’t find any DMAE (whatever the hell it is). Is is carried at GNC?

Yeah it should be…if it’s not then don’t worry too much about it. I can’t really tell much difference when I take my “component part stack” without the DMAE. Usually I just take 300 mg of gingko biloba and 3000 mg of tyrosine with a multiple B-50 complex vitamin and a pot of green tea in the morning. Seems to work ok for me.

I have found Piracetam,a smart drug available in Mexico and Europe to be the finest cognition enhancer I’ve ever tried, especially when taken with lots of choline or lecithin.Acetyl-l-carnitine and ginkgo are all good ,but for me anyway, they dont touch the charge I get from Piracetam. You dont get all jittery like with stimulants, although if you take too much you may find the whole world starts moving a little too slow. The more choline you take the less Piracetam you need.On a trip to Mexico a few years back I noticed it was stocked in the pharmacies, but it is cheaper from Europe. Go to the Life Extension Foundation website for info on ordering smart drugs from Europe.

I never noticed much with Piracetam. I noticed much more of an effect with Power Drive. How much Piracetam did you use? The dosages vary wildly depending on what you read.

Hey Scott UK, don’t mean to blow my own horn here (or maybe, in this case, it’s shooting my own foot), but it was Charles and yours truly that brought a neurotransmitter formula to EAS–slightly different than the formula they used and minus the St. John’s Wort, of course. Neither of us got any dough, though.

Piracetam in my experience, isn’t nearly as effective as Power Drive along with vinpocetine. Beside that, there are much more effective derivatives of pyrrolidine, such as oxiracetam, aniracetam, etiracetam, etc.

Am I missing something? Why is St. Johns Wort getting popped so bad? Could anyone point me in the direction of published nformation? I am not a proponent or opponent, just curious.

Chris, the first time I used Piracetam I took 6-7 grams for two days, then 2400mg daily.More recently though,I have been using only 400-800mg a day, which isn’t a big dose, and still get the effects.I have read in a couple of places that choline amplifies the effects of Piracetam, and based on my own experience, I would have to agree. I do take a lot more choline these days (mostly through lots of lecithin and B-complex tabs).I am surprised you guys didn’t get much out of it,maybe it is for the reasons just mentioned?.I have tried vinpocetine, based on what I’ve read I think it’s great for it’s brain protecting effects, but I didn’t notice any actual boost from it.I haven’t tried oxiracetam,it’s more expensive and I have always been happy with Piracetam, though after reading Cy’s post maybe I should chase some down and try it out.By the way Chris your articles are always a great read.Cheers.

Jay, read Chris Shugart’s article that’s found here. Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION This should answer your question on St. John’s Wort.

Boombam, have you tried Ritalin? And if so what were your experiences with it? Did you like the piracetam better? Thanks.

Boombam- Yeah, I took a lot less than that. I’ve read since that many taking it for medical reasons start with an “attack dose” (sounds like what we’d call a loading dose or frontloading) then go to a smaller daily dose. I may give it another shot in the future, but I’d first like to play around with some of the new stuff out there that Cy talks about. We tried to find some of it in Mexico, but it was hard to come by. Piracetam was in every pharmacia, however. Thanks for the info.

order off the web for real cheap. there are plenty of stores that sell biotest products for great prices. i bought powerdrive for $17. laters pk

I’ve never tried ritalin,so I can’t offer any opinion on it…

Where have you found Biotest products on the web?
