It has been a while since Nelson Montana got his ab etching done by Dr. Nadler and reported on it here on T Nation. I am wondering if there have been any updates since that article? Is he still glad he did the procedure? How does it look now? How has it affect bodyfat distribution over the rest of his body?
How bout a follow up story guys??
He no longer writes for T-Nation and seemed to have left talking trash. I don’t think there will be a follow-up. I hear that he works for some muscle rag.
My wife had the proceedure done by Dr. Nadler with good results. You can’t a six pack per se but her stomach is flat as a board. Even though I have a six pack that you can see, her skinfold measurements are about half of mine.
The only problem she has seen is once the fat was gone she had some excess skin on her hips that rolled over the side of her jeans. Could be her age (40) and her skin elasticitiy. Everybody is different in that regard.
As far as regaining fat in that area, it’s been two years and the results seem to be holding up.
Would someone explain what ab etching is???
I thought Nelson Montana was a real bodybuilder, i.e. no liposuction crap or cheating. I’ll have to look that article up…

Huh. What’s real bodybuilding? I don’t see some surgery as any different than steroid use to help build more muscle than is readily obtainable or possible naturally or get to a level of bodyfat that’s extremely difficult to get to while maintaining muscle without ‘help’.

Heck, some are into calf implant. If abs etching is cheating, what do you call that?
Not saying a thing about the boatload of 'roids the pros take, either…
I like how Nelson is using the post-surgery photo of himself to sell eBooks on his web site.

Gotta agree, Mis…
I agree with you a hell of a lot, but I think you’re being a bit naive here.
Flex Wheeler had calf implants.
I’d bet money that Ahmad Haidar has had some ab etching done.
Synthol? Where to start? (Probably with something that rhymes with "Markus Ruhl’s shoulders.)
Sad to say, that is real bodybuilding nowadays.

Yeah…maybe I’m being sentimental and clomiddy. I don’t quite see roids and surgery as the same “sin”. Even if you’re juicing, everyone knows you still have to put in the work (at the gym and the dinner table); but if you get implants or liposuction, all the work is being done for you.
Did Flex really get calf implants?
If Ruhl got synthol in his shoulders, then it was a waste of money, cos it’s not like it made him look any better.

No, I don’t think steroids and surgery are the same thing, either.
Supposedly, Flex showed up at the Olympia one year with ridiculously large calves after a career of having the normal problems with his calves that most African-Americans do, then got them removed shortly after.
Ferrigno is also rumored to have had them.

Interesting…any pics??
What is his website?
To the guy whose wife had it done… how has her body reacted to having the procedure. i mean, does she store fat in other places now since those ab fat cells are gone?
