Need to Lose 8 Pounds In a Month

Hey a good amount of you should recognize me from previous threads about similar questions. Well the jist of it is. I need to lose 8 pounds in a month to make weight for powerlifting. I currently take:
Food
Protein powder
creatine
beta alinine

I need to do the Powerlifts, AND the olympic lifs every week, and I plan on doing cardio twice a week.

SO basically:

Monday:
Suited squat 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Snatch 3x5
Bent over rows 3x8
Curls 3x10

Tuesday:
Cardio for as long as I can take it

Wednesday:
Deadlift 5x5
Military press 3x5
calf raise 3x12
Pullups 12-8-5
dips 3x8

Thursday:
Cardio for as long as I can take it

Friday:
Raw squat 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Clean n Jerk 3x5
Bent over rows 3x5
Curls 3x10

Maxes:
Bench currently at a little over 185. Haven’t maxed in a while. I rep 175x5

Squat: in the 215-225 range

Pulled 315 as a max, was pretty easy, want to hit a little more in competition

I weigh 160 and need to be below 153.
Diet:

Breakfast: 3x eggs with water
meal2: 40 grams protien powder with 2x servings of carrots
meal3 chicken breast+ brocoli
Weights at 3:00
meal 4 Pwo: is 40 grams protien plus 5g creatine
meal 5 dinner: whatever rents make…I might havet omake my own food on some days
meal6: can of tuna with 1.5 cups of milk

advice?

drop the milk, add more veggies

Dude 8 lbs in a month is a joke if you just need to make weight. Go over to EliteFTS and search through Matt K and Justin Harris’ posts about cutting weight for powerlifting. The key is to put all the weight back on and more. Get to it.

U know what Wendler said about fat loss??

personally I think your diet sucks. You need more protein and veggies.

Yeah bro, Green Veggies will really help you out. I dropped like 4 lbs in 3 days to make weight for a strongman contest. For my protein shakes, instead of 2 scoops of metabolice drive, I would have 1, but then add a handful of BCAAs. Most ‘meals’ involved a small piece of chicken, turkey, or beef, lotsa greens (whole cucumbers or raw brocolli), and fish oil capsules.

I wouldnt’ recommend this for a month long diet though, but figrued I’d chime in.

Good luck

lol, if your weigh-in is a couple days before the actual contest and you dont drop all 8 lbs, take the wrestler route and dont drink, while spitting in a cup to lose water weight. However, if the weigh-in is the day of the contest, this won’t work, you dont want to be dehydrated for a lifting competition.

Of course in youth competitions that could disqualify him.

I’ll cut out the milk. I haven’t done cardio since I don’t know when, my endurance is going to be shitty.

Start with some sprints on your off days. At your age you can progress quickly.

Do a search for “Running Man” by Thib.

I like blaze’s idea let us know what your weigh in is, in relation to your meet.

I hon estly don’t know when is is. I won’t get spicifics for a few more weeks. It’s on January 12th at Kaukana.

That’s it? 8 lbs?

Take a shit and go for a run.

In other news: your diet is a tragedy on wheels. Better start including more meat and veggies and less diary. you are ingesting dick all protein. Extra fiber in the form of 10 servings of green veggies a day will be all you need over the course of a month.

I can add vegies with breakfast. I have such shitty endurance now hat I can’t run for nearly as long as I used too. Plus, where I live the sidewalks are all iced, and I don’t want to crack my head open :(. I’m pretty much stuck within the confines of my 1-1.5 hour workout, with a partner.

I just hope that everyone knows that Wendler was being sarcastic in this video…

Does power lifting require same-day weigh-ins? If not why not just cut the weight? Like go work out in a sauna, take a giant dump, etc. Or is cutting weight not a part of PL culture? Sorry I’m not too familiar with the sport.

If you want to lose 8lb of lean muscle keep on doing your cardio!!! Dump the Milk and Dairy and eat more veg, far fewer calories!!
