Read a bit more of the posts on this site before you become so sure they are all nice guys. You got some advise out of all of this although you payed dearly for it. Get used to the abuse is my advise on this board. You will eventually get some help out of these rascals.

There are many very knowledgable people who post here. Even some of the abusers that pounded you fall into that category once you get past the rough stuff.

I am a fat ass old powerlifter with a lot of weight to lose. I have been using interval training for the last few weeks to lose weight and it seems to be working very well. I have been using a heavy bag, striking the bag all out for 30 seconds then switching to a more normal shadow boxing intensity for another thirty. I repeat this about six to eight times and my body is drenched with sweat at the end and screaming for oxygen.

The whole thing takes me about fifteen minutes including a warmup on the speed bag. I have been losing about three pounds a week which is a little too fast but my lard ass needs it.

You can use sprints, jump rope or virtually any other total body work in the same way. You just need to go all out during the high intensity portion and follow up with a moderate pace to recover. Mind you that the intensity can be very uncomfortable but it works and is quickly over.

I have adjusted my carb intake for this cycle to about 50% protein, 40% carbs and 10% fat. I try not to eat high glycemic carbs later in the day. That too was mentioned by one of the posters. I am not truly going to cut until the spring so I am eating about a 1000 calories above my maintenance figures at this point. I tried to go down to 500 above but it was too low for me and I felt fatigued all the time and my lifts were impacted.

The other good bit of advise was to continue lifting. Muscle burns fat and more of it means more fat burned during your intervals.

Good luck losing that weight.

Franky they’re just playing with ya. By the looks of it you’re the only one that’s upset atm lol.

Diet wise: Calculate your daily caloric requirements, eat below that level and eat as clean as you possibly can.

For training: I found that fasted cardio also works great for fat-loss so you can either drink a protein shake first thing in the morning followed by 20 mins or so of regular cardio or 20 mins after you work out 3+ times a week and you should have no problem slimming down.

I’m pretty sure that if you’ve been lifting for a while and you’ve been here since january that you already have a pretty good idea of what you need to do in your head. The hardest part is putting your plan in action so get to it.

By the way Tropic Thunder was funny as hell. I thought it was going to suck because the previews looked pretty stupid but it wasn’t that bad. “I’m the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude”

franky if you loose 30lbs fast how much muscle mass are you willing to give up?
Being a vegetarian presents some problems for protein consumption.I agree with fasted cardio and sprints - you need to get real do you want to be an average fat guy or somebody who stands out. good luck
