Need Some Ideas For My Workout Plan

Well I sorta just started to workout only a few months so far, and i am 5’2 130 pounds. i started working out for the healthier lifestyle and to look better since i made some really bad decisions as a child… I use the push pull work out plan.

im a beginner be nice please!!

day 1
chests:
bench press 5x8
incline bench 4x8
dumbbell bench 4x8 (i switch from incline to flat)
dumbbell flies 3x8

shoulders:
upright rows 4x10
shrugs 3x20

triceps:
lying triceps extensions
standing cable push downs

Day 2
legs:
squats 5x8
leg extensions 4x8
leg press 4x8
calf raises 4x15

back:
lat pulldowns 4x12
bent over rows 3x10
deadlifts 4x12
rows 3x10

biceps
standing olympic bar curls 5x10
preacher curls 4x10
dumbbell curls 3x10
concentration curls 3x8

after these 2 days there is day of rest and then i start with day 1 again. and also i usually end each day with 30 minute cardio.

now what I am wondering is should i do less weight and more reps, and I’ve seen some articles on the diets on here but I don’t think my parents would let me eat like that they are some what unhealthy. Also since school has started i really don’t have a lot of time to work out. actually that sounds like an excuse i know if i wanted to i would, but school is killing me.

There are these things called articles on this site that have all of the information you are looking for. You should check them out.

Edit: How old are you anyway? You may be too young to be lifting.

Benching 5x8, 4x8, 4x8… if as a beginner you can deal with so much volume, you are using too little weights or resting too long. Since this is hard to determine yourself, I’d say: Get a training partner.

Plus: Where did you get that plan?

While the basic idea fells kinda okay (though this is not a push-pull plan, but a two-day-split), there is so much weird about the implementation that I can understand why joburnet is telling you to read the articles first.
