I suppose it comes down to what you consider to be “successful”, playing for the Wallabies would be one way to look at it and a few current players that immediately come to mind are:

  • Lote Tuqiri
  • Timana Tahu
  • Ryan Cross
  • Berrick Barnes

That said, I don’t think League players generally tackle any better than Union players. They are two different sports with very different rules for tackling and very different outcomes after a tackle. Trying to draw comparisons is a bit pointless.

Lote Tuqiri - one trick pony. The man can run a ball hard but thats about it.

Timana Tahu - Not a Wallaby and has returned to league after some very average performances in Union.

Ryan Cross - Not a Wallaby.

Berrick Barnes is the exception to the rule. He has performed extremely well and continues to improve.
