Need Equipment Advice

I found a guy on the internet that is unloading all of his exercise equipment in order to make more room in his garage. His asking price is $750 for the whole lot but I’m going to offer $500-600 because that’s
my target range. I’d appreciate it if you guys could take a look at his equipment and tell me if its worth the money.

Here’s what he’s got:

Tuff Stuff cage with multiple attachments,Ivanko weights and Ivanko dumbells.

Tuff Stuff cage, Tuff stuff bench and leg attachment, Tuff stuff plate stand, Tuff stuff dumbell stand. Olympic bar, olympic curl bar, olympic couplers, standard bar, lat pull down and & misc other items.
Ivanko plates, 2-45#, 2-35#, 2-25#, 4-10#, 4-5#, 4-2-1/2# and 4-10# standard rubber plates.
Ivanko dumbells 2-10#, 2-15#, 2-20#, 2-25#, 2-30#, 2-35#, 2-40#, 2-45#, 2-50#, 2-55#, 2-60#.

He doesn’t mention which model of cage it is but from the photo I think it’s a tpr-265 which retails in the 500 range.

I’m a stone cold beginner here and I want to start off right with the right equipment, but my funds are limited.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

There doesn’t seem to be much going on with this thread in this forum. I’ll probably repost it in the “Building a Better Body” forum later this evening, unless there are any objections?

I am not familiar with Tuff Stuff equipment but will offer my humble opinion: I wouldn’t go over $600. Ivanko is an excellent brand. I would estimate the olympic bar, plates, and dumbbells to be worth $350 - $450 new. A good cage and bench with a lat attachment is probably worth around $250 - $350 new, depending upon quality. Can’t tell from the photo what condition the system is in. Hope this helps. good luck

Thanks for the reply fifty. I offered the guy $90 for his incline/decline bench and $250 for his cage and he accepted. Hopefully it turns out to be a good purchase. Here’s a few more photos of the cage.

I have the newer version of the Tuff Stuff shown in your pics. It is great stuff and takes abuse. Their customer service is also top notch!!

I paid $600 for my cage new 2 years ago. I also have the high low pulley (mine has the weight stack though) and it was almost $1000 new.

I could not be more happy with the equipment. I also have Ivanko weights and their powerbar. The bar alone was $370, so if it’s in good shape, you did well…

Did you get the bar & weights? Sounds like you made a great deal on the bench & cage. Best of luck with your training.
