Hey guys first off stats:

Been havin some issues with the diet lately. STarted to bulk and im hardly at 3000 calories daily and i feel like my arms, legs, and main muscles are shrinking but im putting on body fat like no other.
I havent changed anything other besides going into a bulk and its not like my calories are 7000+…its moderate for me yet my waistline and pelvic areas seem to be putting fat on by the minute while my arms seem like they are shrinking. protein is always around 220-250 since i have high carbs so i didnt think id need 300+ since it has a protein sparing effect but im a little concerned the high cab has messed my insulin sensitivity up. I mean my strength is going up but im loosing a little weight but gaining fat which makes me think im loosing muscle. Its really strange and im worried somethin fishy is goin on it my body idk about.
Im thinking about getting my calories from more protein intake instead of high carb. Just have high protein/mod carb/mod fat. ANyone out there have similar issues? also im gaining fat around the neck too. almost seems like a thyroid issue. No joke in a matter of a week my weigh dropped 2 lbs…muscles seemed ALOT smaller and fat gain went through the roof. HELP!
If you are gaining strength you’re arms and legs are not shrinking. How high are your carbs and what sources do you have? Unless you are taking in tons of sugar I highly doubt you are gaining insulin sensitivity. You’re protein sounds fine, if anything take in less protein and more low GI complex carbs.
yeah my bench is going up…i havent even been eating 300g carbs a day…most of it comes from oatmeal, sandwich brea, pasta, etc. Im just confused…I am really not eating that much yet the fat is building up. i ignored it thinkin it was all in my head till it started in my neck…but if i dont eat this much i loose weight drastically so i think ill just lower the fat and boost carbs way high and protein and measure my progress over the next month.
Sounds like you are on the right track, you are aware of how many carbs and how much protein you are consuming – which is a lot more than most eighteen year olds can say. I’d up your carbs to about 350-375 and lower your fat to about 90g. Eat as clean as you can and you’ll make progress.
Why would you want to raise your carbs to 50% of your intake. I use 34%p/33%c/33%f when bulking and get a 1 to 1 ratio on muscle to fat gain. Raising carbs that high will add more fat to a guy that already THINKS he is getting too fat.

thanks for the positive comments chi-twn. Arms afire, i want to raise carbs because when i raise carbs my muscles feel fuller, my energy levels go up, and my strength goes up as well. Unfortunately when i add over 75g fat to my diet, i get unusual fat gains. i sacrificed carbs for fat in attempt to have enough calories and it didnt work well. energy levels down and muscle hardness went away and increased fat. Hopefully more complex carbs and lowered fat intake will solve this problem. Most would probably suggest more fat in my diet but for the last year or so since i stopped growing vertically my metabolism slowed. I used to be able to eat whatever whenever and id never gain weight, now its a whole new ball game. trial and error has led me to believe i work well at low low fat (around 50-60g) daily and high carb/ high protein intake or else fat seems to be gained to easily. Dont work even as an 18 year old i understand it will be ALL complex carbs that resist fat deposite unlike sugar carbs. so oatmeal, corn, beans, spaghetti, brown rice, etc. cutting out all chips/other simple carbs out of my lunch/meals at school (im a senior).
