I have been in the gym religiously for 5 years, and I just started school. I was working out throughout winter and spring but then finals came during spring session. I believe It was because that I stopped. Its been about a month and a half now since i worked out and I have been eating like crap(fast food) everyday. I lost a lot of muscle and gained fat, and I am very upset at myself and I am starting to put myself down when I see myself in the mirror. Guys, please give me some advice, I am really starting to hate myself. I try to get up and go to the gym and eat better but its as if I am getting addicted to the bad food. Thanks fellaz!
how about you grow a pair and go to the gym instead of whining online
Suck it up and kick those shitty habbits. Put down some quality food and lift some heavy shit!
Just keep tellin yourself…

EXACTLY! YOU PU$$Y!!
If thats not motivation man I’m sorry you’ve lost your will to live!
Good luck with that.

Make this your “Phoenix Moment”. Buy that gym membership and get in there. It will take no time for you to get into a routine again. People have their fallouts and, well, I had one. Granted that I have not been lifting for nearly as long as the majority of the posters here, I think it is safe to say that many people have had fall outs due to extenuating circumstances whether it be related to health, work, or family.
I’ve come back from a 5 month absence due to a broken foot and other lame ass excuses but I’ve come back twice as strong and twice as motivated. I bet you’re holding onto some lame ass excuse yourself for why you shouldn’t go to the gym today, tomorrow, and the next day.
I see you list your profession as a personal trainer. That should be enough motivation right there; I, for one, would not have an ounce of respect for a personal trainer who can’t walk the walk. So stop feeling sorry for yourself, walk the fucking walk, and get back in the gym…YEAAAAHH BUDDY
I’ve got Jamie Eason as the background on my computer, if there was ever a moment of doubt in my mind, I’m almost positive that looking at that would get me over it.
man i dont know how you went off gym for a month and a half after going religously for 5 years.
When i did my MCL last year I was supposed to take it easy and not lift for 6 weeks. I workout at home so i ended up lasting 4 days, my physio wasnt happy but I made a full recovery in the end
basically man youve gotta get off your ass and drive to the gym, if you cant be stuffed then get a mate to drive ya so you wont have an excuse to skip out
I think you’ve already found your motivation. You seem to be very upset with yourself for giving up on your training and diet. Use that anger. Everytime your mind tries to talk you out of going to the gym…remember what you are feeling right now. When that double cheesburger is calling you…remember what drove you to make this post.
Wanting to get big and train is more than a “lifestyle” (to quote George Carlin…"if you think about it, Gengis Khan live an active, outdoor…lifestyle) is who you ARE. I got back into training eight years ago, and now I can’t miss a workout or a meal any easier than I can stop blinking.
If I start to slip or try to talk myself out of training, I just remember where I was when I finally made the dedication to weights and all the motivation I need is right there for the taking.
As other have said, don’t look to the net for motivation…you have to make your own.
stop whining
get off your ass
fix your diet
lift some heavy ass weights
you won’t find any sympathy here
i did the velocity diet during finals so…finals are your excuse? don’t do that bullshit where you eat crap and don’t lift AT LEAST LIFT!! oh and what everyone else said. STOP WHINING. if it is serious depression go to a fucking psychiatrist and get some meds if that’s what it takes.
now with the following VERY SIMPLE information below, go squat/deadlift until your brain hurts. once you get into a routine like cdrk9 said you’ll love it. 6 weeks is not enough to do THAT much damage.
stop whining
get off your ass
fix your diet
lift some heavy ass weights
you won’t find any sympathy here

what he said
Here’s my fool-proof system to get you back in shape:
Step 1: Grow a penis.
Step 2: Go lift something heavy.
Step 3: Eat something good.
- Repeat Steps 2 & 3 as necessary.
Stop with all this phoenix bullshit.
First of all, most people (on this site and elsewhere) do not have what it takes (genetics-wise and testicular fortitude) to EVER look impressive. If a simple thing like a set of finals could make you give up 'gym" altogether, and if a short break like thast could undo all your efforts so easily - clearly you don’t have the genetics to go far in this activity.
DDo yourself a favor and walk through the steroids forum. you’ll find people actually busting their asses ON GEAR and who look decent but it took them years of consistent lifting to get there…and even with all that, there ain;t any chance of the average user there winning a local show anytime soon. My point is, this may not be a good activity for you. Why lift intermittently, busting your joints and then have nothing to show for it all?
My serious advice is, find a new hobby. This will just cause you disappointment. and I am being very very honest.
