Neck Harness

Can anyone recommend a good neck harness? Are they worth it?

I’m using the neck harness from Elitefts.com. It’s great for how I use it. See, I don’t use weight, I use bands. I loop the bands around a post and connect it to the chain. This makes it easier to hit all 4 directions, and lets you stand up while you’re doing it.

Connecting a weight to the head harness just took to much goofing around.

The ironmind one works great and is comfortable.

I use one from some Canadian lifting company called Grizzly Fitness I found online, had it for three or four years and still in great shape.

How do you rig it up for band use? I tried putting the band through the chain and facing away from the band, reversal of doing it with plates on the chain, but the harness kept slipping off my head.

I made my own harness out of 3/4 inch webbing. Works great. Only use it with weights.

I also use jump stretch bands for training the neck. Very simple and effective. I just tie one end around the power cage at head level, and slip the other end of the band around my head. Step away from the cage and go to work. Works not only the neck but also the stabilizing muscles in the body depending on the size of band and how far you move from the cage. I use average and strong bands.

Got mine from Iron Mind and it’s a great piece of equipment. You can easily put 1" on your neck with not a lot of effort.

I wouldn’t recommend the Elite neck harness. It’s leather and does not fit the head nearly as well as the Iron Mind one.

Prowriststraps.com has two types of neck harness. I have the black nylon one. Good price and is built to last forever.
