Sweet sounds good

Thanks
Phill

We just got our first two sponsors for the events.
APT Truck Pull and
MaxMuscle Sports Nutrition Tire Flip

We are working hard on getting the competitor goodies lined up and (cross our fingers) hoping to get something locked in to feed all the athletes and staff, breakfast and lunch. I will have to see how this works out.
D.J.

Great looking forward to it. Anymore sign up yet??

Phill,
no more yet but I am very confident we will fill up with a cap of 40 before the deadline hits.

Those are some great sponsors DJ! It’s looking to be a fun competition for a great cause.

Thanks Bobby, things are going well so far.

I added some more competitor names and sponsors today to get things up to date.
The goody bags are starting to shape up to be pretty nice. Also, it looks like the top three in each division will get some extra goodies on top of their award for winning.
On top of that, we will be giving out some things to each individual event winner in each class.

I will update with any other news, I am very happy with the number of entries this early.
D.J.

DJ, my entry went out this morning…

Is Vince going to enter?

Are you going to have any open sessions as it gets closer to come use the equipment a little?

We joined a new gym a little closer to home so I probably won’t be around Golds much even though I am paid up through the end of the year.

Jason,
I got your entry today and put you on the list. I didn’t know you were interested in this stuff, that is cool you are doing the meet.

We train strongman events most every Friday night around 5:30, you are more than welcome to come over and train with us, just give me a call sometime and we can set something up. This next weekend I am going up to Des Moines,Iowa to train with Shawn and then will train here in town Feb. 2. We train over in Council Bluffs.

Vince isn’t competing but he is helping me run things again as far as sponsors and that goes. His boy Glenn is competing in the LW’s though.

I always thought it looked like fun when I watched on TV so I figured what the hell…The weights look a little heavy for me, but I am willing to give it a shot.

DJ’s contest should be great… anyone thinking about doing it should get their entry in now.

Looking forward to training Saturday DJ! We are set for 9:00am.

D.J. posts a fair amount on the KCStrongman forum- www.kcstrongman.com

It is a great forum with even greater, hard core strength athletes who are a hell of a bunch to train with…

I just got the contest hotel set up. It is the Microtel Hotel, which is approximately 4-5 miles from the contest site and is only 1 year old. They have free deluxe continental breakfast, free wireless internet, free long distance phone calls, 24hr coffee. This is a very nice place that is easy to get to from the contest. There is also a bunch of restaurants, shops & a movie theater nearby.
When you call to reserve your room, tell them you are with the ?Nebraska Strongest Man?.
Room rates are:
$59 night for single queen
$69 night for two queens
$79 night for suite

Microtel Hotel
3008 Samson Way
Bellevue, NE 68123
402-292-0191
800-771-7171

LOL I cant wait to see them try and keep up with that continental breakfast LOL

Sounds good DJ

Phill

Phill,
Ha Ha I know what you mean. The hotel probably doesn?t know what is going to hit them. Looks like training is going pretty good for you.
I had to pull out of the Mall, very hard for me to do, as I blew the left side of my back out last weekend while training with Shawn up in Iowa, 300# farmers did it. My right side has been messed up for almost a year now so I am going to take some time off and try to heal. If all goes well, I hope to compete again in July at the New York show.
Right now I am just working everyday to make the Nebraska Strongest Man the best it can be. Also, I am promoting a 100% RAW powerlifting meet in August, so I have plenty to do.
