23 and @ about 245 right now. I appreciate it.
popasquat -
you would be competing in the middleweight division 201-265.
log press - average #'s 200-240, winner 270-290
yoke - average #'s 12-16 seconds, winner 10-11 sec.
farmers - this is hard to say as it is for distance, my guess would be average #‘s, 80’-140’ winner 180’-220’
tire flip average #'s 50-70sec. winner 40+ sec.
truck pull no idea as we will have to test this
hope this helps but keep in mind these are just educated guesses from what I have experienced. heat, fatigue, etc. can all play a part in these changing.

another thing I would add is just come do the meet and remember, the strongman community is very supportive so don’t worry about it if you are not at the top level. We all started somewhere and you just want to come get a meet under your belt and then it gives you numbers and goals to shoot for. I can almost guarantee you that once you do your first contest you will be hooked.

I guess I’ll see you in Iowa then, Phil. I’m all signed up already.
Good deal bro. It’ll be nice to bust my cherry and get to meet you all. What weight class are you in??

I’m a 231. And I’m excited to get back out and compete. I’ve only done a few competitions and basically pussed out on a few last year after a very poor showing at a non-NAS competition. So, this year I plan on competing in as many as I can get to. Good luck to you Phill.

Good luck to you as well. I nearly decided to drop to 231 but sitting at 240 and eventually wanting to be a solid 255 or so figured hell cutting weight is kind of counter productive LOL so went for the 265 class.
Glad to se your getting back at it im and well me just starting looking to do quite a few as well. Bbest of luck to you as well.

I am doing Scott Tully’s Monster of the Mall Pro-Am March 3 so I told Shawn I would help him with his, otherwise I would be competing. It is a great line-up, and trust me, it will be very hard to sit and watch/judge and not compete, this will be the first time I have ever done that.
popasquat - what is your age and weight? then I can give you some ideas of where people will be in your age and weight class on the different events.
D.J.[/quote]
Im sure that will be hell sitting on the side. From what ive seen youll get a hell of a w/o resetting the events as well LOL all the work without the competition Thanks for judging and a pre thank you for all the questions im sure ill have ![]()

Phill - No problem buddy, just here to help.
Yeah, I have a feeling I will get plenty of work with the setup/unloading thing. Gotta help out my good friend Shawn though.
Todd - glad to see you aren’t letting one bad meet throw you out of the game. You will have a great time at the Iowa meet. I will see you there.
D.J.
What do you hypothesize the lightweight numbers would look like?
popasquat - I would guess about the same as far as times and distances since the weights will be a little lighter. As far as the max. log, I would guess somewhere between 220-240 would win and most will be around 180-200. Once again, just educated guesses. Hope this helps.

Aplication goes out tomorrow I cant wait. I just log pressed yesterday for the first time I did 190 with little to no leg drive so probably 210 with leg’s.
That is a great start. With some leg drive and other technique tips, I have no doubt you will be pressing 220-250. Glad to hear you will be making the contest.
On a side note to anyone considering doing this contest, we will be capping the amount of competitors at 40. I already have some entries in hand. Not trying to pressure anyone, I just don’t want you to miss out if you really want in. My friend that is hosting the Iowa Strongest Man is already full(40+) with a waiting list and his show isn’t until March 31.
Thanks to all.

Two more entries in today, another one from Michigan and one from California.
I got the sound system lined up last weekend so things are rolling along. That is all for now. I will post a competitor list when I start to get more in.

Eric,
you are correct, the one from CA is yours.
Also, I am ordering two new truck pulling harnesses from APT today so they should be here in a week or two. Then we can start testing out the truck pull, everything else is set.
D.J.
Just got done ordering the truck pulling harnesses so they should be here in a week or so and we can start testing them out. All the other implements are ready to go.
Just a little FYI.
