The more I read, the more I think I definitely will plan to do this one. So if anyone between Milwaukee and wherever this place is wants to set up to car pool, let me know.
Great
sounds all good Im trying to tyake care of my part now and train my ass off.
Today got he farmers about finished need to go pick up my tires. Got some Big hunck of limestone from a stone cutter I know various broken prieces of Big colums that were no good for a large building. Headed to Holton Tuesday to Train with Bobby with the implements he has etc.
Oh and the OH pressing / shoulder seems to be coming along better than expected.
Hope to see all of you chiming in there will be very cool to make a Big showing of this.
Phill
Hey got to play with a log, stones and farmers for my first time today. Was pleased for a first try at the log and stopping as to not kill my rehabbing shoulder. got a solid 180 x 4 and 190 x 1 before calling that a stop and doing a few reps at 140.
All the events are for sure going to take some practice lots of technique and small differences
Should be interesting.
Phill
Nice job Phill, that is good work for the first time on the log, it is a different creature. Did you go up to Bobby’s and train? he is a great guy.

Phill,
Yeah, Bobby is real close to you and remember there is another group of guys in the Salina/Abilene area with a TON on equipment and also a group in the Cameron, MO area if you are around there. Tell Bobby hi when you see him again. Take care and keep up the training.

Good stuff sounds like you guys are going to have a real good time, good luck.
I am going to try to start collecting some implements and do a little strongman training on Saturdays.
what are the tire sizes I should be looking for 400,600, etc lb tires?
Thanks.
I would get a 400#-500# one, a 600#, and a 800#-900# tire if you are looking for this many. If you can only get one, I would shoot for a 600#-700# tire as this would be a good all-around one.

Thanks, I have room to store them and might have some weaker friends come and train a little on the weekend sometimes.
Short of weighing them what size tire should I be looking for?
Thanks again
I am not sure right off, I will try and locate the list that will give you some guidelines. There is no real set poundage for a size as tread type, tread wear, how many ply, radial or not, all factors into the weight. I have a competition in New Mexico this weekend so it may be a week or so before I get the info.

According to the Ontario Strongman site…
23.5-25 is around 600 pounds
23.5R25 is around 700 pounds
26.5R25 is around 850-900 pounds
These are with normal tread wear.
They should measure 5-6ft. across and be about 2-3 ft. across the tread.
Ontario Strongman also has a list of tire sizes with listed weights on their site.
Editted to add: their list of tires and sizes, are for tires over 750 pounds.
Thanks Bobby, that is the one I was looking for.
How is everything going? I hope well.

I’m doing good DJ. Finally getting back to it after the last contest, that yoke was pretty hard on me.
Good luck to you and Scott this weekend. I’m looking forward to hearing about how it went.
I’m also looking forward to seeing all you guys next weekend.
Great job. I have one question about the http://www.nastrongmaninc.com/records.asp site. In the NAS Event Records under teen the numbers were so low. What age and weight are they. Same for adult with the weight for HW and LW.
