Nebido 250mg Every 2 Weeks Protocol?

Hi,

39 years old, newly-transitioned-to-trt guy here.
I’m a doctor (not endo) myself but I am amazed how knowledgeable some people are here, and I am looking for some real world experience beyond trials.

Recently I’ve been prescribed nebido regular regimen, it’s been 9 weeks and so far I’m feeling great. Balls are fine, semen volume is good no hcg, no AI(AIs f me up). Libido over the roof, rock hard erections, having wife plus a fb satisfied all the time. Started to get some muscle as well (gym rat for several years but lately I wasn’t able to build anything).
Anyway, my blood work is to be in 4 - 5 weeks.

The question is, I saw some results on every 2 weeks 250 and every week 125 mgs. They look fine, however it’s not something I will dive my head into right away without asking if someone has hands on experience.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

The majority of men on Nebido don’t feel right on it, so it’s nice to hear that there are men out there doing well on it.

There was a member on another forum who was injecting 20mg Nebido daily and reportedly doing very well.

He did it to manage side effects of high E2 values which the smaller daily dosing corrected.

We all eventually hit a wall in the muslse building department, usually it’s either nutrition or the workout itself that needs attention.

I don’t see it as being related to hormones being lower at the end of the 2 week regimen, unless of course your levels have dropped a bit which can happen sometimes months after starting TRT.

Also 9 weeks is still early in treatment, maximum benefits take up to at 1 year.

Changes in fat mass, lean body mass, and muscle strength occur within 12–16 weeks, stabilize at 6–12 months, but can marginally continue over years.

We do not use nebido in my practice. I have never used it, though I do know a few who do or have. My knowledge is more indirect than direct.

First off, it has an extremely long half life. It was designed with the intent to treat hypogonadism with infrequent injections and it does have a level of effectiveness. I think it can be detected via drug tests for up to one year post injection, which makes sense given the every three month dosing utilized.

I doubt you’ll hear good things about it on the internet. This is where guys come with problems, complications and questions. But, I think it has been around for almost twenty years. I would imagine it would not have survived on the market this long if there was not a significant level of success, and that means most who use it. Is it the best way to do TRT, I don’t think so, but it is a valid option.

Look at twice monthly dosing with cypionate. There are millions of guys under the care of PCPs, urologists, and endocrinologists dosing twice monthly, and they are happy. It someone mentioned that protocol here members would go nuts. You’ll hear of everything from weekly to daily dosing.

Secondly, you’re feeling great. It seems best not to try to fix what is not broken. I know it can be fun to experiment and try different things, compounds, dosing levels, frequency, etc. However, I very much doubt you’ll notice a difference moving to weekly dosing with Nebido, though it won’t hurt if you did.

Good luck, nice to hear you are doing well.

Thats the dumbest thing iv ever heard

I agree it’s out there given the long half-life of nebido and most likely completely unnecessary, but if the guy says it works, who are we to judge?

Really appreciate the effort for the comprehensive reply mate. Thank you. Well noted.

Every once in awhile a blind squirrel finds an acorn. Does that mean most blind squirrels find acorns or that most are hit by a garbage truck?

I believe the majority of guys feel good with stable levels. It doesn’t surprise me, that this guy found out it works. It is just unnecessary IMO. Did he try once a week, twice a week, EOD in that order before going to daily shots? Probably not.

I guess what I am saying is that I think a majority of men would feel good on that protocol, but they probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if they spread out their shots.

In the TRT world nothing surprises me anymore. I believe some are addicted to the injection itself, call it what you want, empowerment or control over one’s testosterone levels.

Some guys turn their TRT into a hobby and obsess over the labs.

I think that is because placebo is one of the stronger drugs out there.

If a guy makes a change to protocol expecting it to be better, they will likely perceive it to be better.

You’re spot on with this!

But shouldn’t it surprise us? The human body doesn’t produce stable levels at all. It’s quite the contrary.

I think if we had no data from the past, that one would expect that mimicking the body for a natural hormone release would be optimal. The thing is BBers have been playing with this stuff for decades now, and found that for most steady levels seem to produce feeling good, and a low amount of negative side effects.

I do say that this is for “most”, not all. Some do seem to feel better with short esters pinning every day for example.

I have no idea along the day or night, but I always do labs in the morning like 8 or 9 AM (before eating anything) and the deviations are within 10% from each other and don´t seem to decline with age.
But mine´s low anyway…probably has been like this for a long time already. It sucks!

Nebido is what we all thought cyp was when we were naïve and started out in TRT.

Its suitable for weekly or every two week or even 3 week injections, and levels remain stable.

The price though on the original…shudder.

Very true.

But i think the mimicking the ups/downs best affects libido most.

I wonder how many BB’ers, who are cycling large doses, actually do have great libidos and erections? (just using test).

I know when i tried a cycle of like 350mg/week, i felt zero libido.

I can’t really answer that for everyone. I know my best (highest, which is debatable if that’s the best, because I feel it might be too much) libido seems to be between 150 mg/wk and 350 mg/wk. Still had good libido at 600 and 875 mg/wk though. I had good libido with borderline low T levels.

I do think there is more to libido than hormones. I am probably just more sexually oriented than many (kinda a perv lol). I think libido levels are a spectrum, hormones play a part, but I don’t think it is all of it. I suspect a large factor is individual psychology.

No level of T has shown me any libido. I had very little prior to TRT, and now none.

Really what missing, is that “in heat” feeling that take over a man’s body when fooling around with a woman. The attraction is there. The want is there. But my bodies reaction isn’t. It’s like that “blue balls” feeling is gone.

So when I am with a woman, little happens to drive wanting sex.

Have you considered talking to a sex therapist?

You feel attraction, that can be a bit different than wanting sex. Do you want sex, but your body doesn’t get aroused? You just might need a ED pill if that is the case. Many seem to think libido goes up with ED pills (indirectly, from getting more erections). If you just don’t feel a desire to have sex, then I can’t really help, and that is where a sex therapist would come in.
