Nausea When Training

Does anyboyd else get sick when they workout sometimes. I used to think it was because of low blood sugar but I sometimes get sick in the morning after breakfast or if i workout at lunch. Mealtime doesn’t seem to affect if i get sick or not. It is seeming random. Any help or thoughts on this?

It ruins a good workout though. I was kicking right along today added 5 lbs to my bench and was still getting last weeks rep count. I moved on to some single leg squats holding the weight above my head then bam! I start to feel sick. The rest of my workout sucked after this.

Are you using a sugary drink before or during workout? That always does it to me. Heavy leg exercises tend to be involved also.

The last time this came up, I think someone mentioned the Valsalva maneuver (holding your breath and straining).

Anyway, I think it’s pretty normal if you’re lifting with intensity.

Yup breathing heavy loads and the BP spike your not used to.If getting minimal rest may be from LA buildup you not used too

jakshafter, I was getting sick during pretty much every workout for a couple of weeks and here are some things I have tweaked:

A good-sized, solid breakfast, usually some egg whites and a whole wheat english muffin caked in peanut butter.

I’ve been going to sleep A LOT earlier. Being a late night PC gamer has big time tolls on a workout. We need sleep.

I started drinking some whey (with h20) as soon as I start to feel queezy, and lo, it goes away.

Maybe some help here. Feel better.

I workout at 6:30 am. I drink a cup of coffee and a Protien/Gainer shake with bannana and PB in it at 5:30-5:45 about 600 cals worth (40pro/60carbs/10fat) and a blend of carbs. Then i drink the other 1000 cals of the drink after the workout.

I had this same problem. For me, it was drinking more water throughout the day. I was getting dehydrated, especially given that I drink coffee as well.
