What do you guys think?
You guys really sit around and do this when you see people?

How many of you shocked by the idea that he might be natural live in BIG cities?

It just seems like some of you don’t have much exposure to wide ranges of people from many different cultures.

If everyone around you looks like you…of course you might be unable to accept anyone bigger as being natural at all.
What you talkin bout Willis?

I saw this guy on ESPN and wanted to gather opinions on his physique. I didn’t say anything about steroids. And isn’t this thread natural or not anyway?

Can’t we talk about other peoples’ physiques on here?

No offense, but guys who think like you seem to have an inferiority complex. They lash out at people who are more “gifted” than they are.

Most of you guys with that thought process never get very big. You will always be “that guy talking shit”.

I would hate to be that.

I would much rather be the guy getting talked about.
lol at you calling other people out for having an inferiority complex. You instantly try and shut down or insult anyone who doesn’t agree with you.

i think it was brick who brought it up in another thread. stop acting like you run the whole fucking forum, if people want to discuss steroids or who’s natty and who’s not they should be able to. do we now need your permission to have a debate or discussion on a topic?

i like having discussions on thing related to bodybuilding, were are on a bodybuilding forum after all.

Yes, it was me who brought that up. So long as people act civil most of the time (we all have our moments when we’re pushed to the limits and act out a bit, mostly regrettably so) we should be able to discuss whatever related to training and food as we damn please (and this includes dumb shit sometimes). It’s an internet forum for a damn HOBBY for most, yet people have to supposedly be given permission on what they speak of.

In might be in some cases that a person discussing the “natty versus assisted” issue is jealous and wants to diminish another’s accomplishment, but for many it’s not. It’s called shooting the shit and many of us look at bodybuilding for what it is for most: a hobby or a exhibition (I don’t consider BB a sportr) they follow and talk about the same way they do for other competitive endeavors that they will NEVER be highly involved in (that is, they will never compete. It’s called talking shop, shooting the shit, or whatever. I’ve done and I don’t feel the slightest bit insecure if some guy is bigger than me. Seriously, how the hell is some OTHER human being being bigger (or smarter, or richer, or more talented) than me going to affect my life one bit. If someone’s better off than me in some area, hats off, god bless! Thats still not going to keep me from discussing those who claim they’re natural when they’re not (that’s not diminishing their accomplishments) or pointing out who’s done “better” than me through shady practices (eg, billionaire who accumulated his wealth through exploitation or fraud or theft or trickery).

Hence why I’ve spoken the status of Kiyoshi Moody, Jeff Willet, Skip la Cour, Marcus Reinhardt, Stan McQuay, and other supposed naturals. This doesn’t make me a damn “hater” or “insecure” or indicate a faulty “thought process”. Nor do I give a damn how big someone is when it doesn’t regard watching a bodybuilding show. I have a friend who’s 6’3", played college football, and has put on some pretty big numbers. I got over his imposing size after our first conversation 13 years ago. I work with a 6’7" guy–not particularly muscular, but a damn big person. Again, I got over his “big guy” status quickly. I once met strongman Mike Jenkins, I think weighing in the 380s at the time. I fet like I was 5 years old next to him, but shaking his hand and chatting with him didn’t affect my self esteem one iota, in the same way that some of the wealthier people I deal with at my job don’t affect me because of their elevated socioeconomic status or capabilities.

Did you see the title of the thread?

Is he using? Yes I borderline think an NFL player is stupid not to, your body needs to recover from those hits. Plus it’s in the same week Woodson said it’s rampet in the NFL.

His arm is impressive, not sure if it’s the best, half the 49’ers looked bigger and more cut then that. They look like bodybuilders and the Ravens like NFL players.

couldnt care

This is one big reason I wish this stuff was legal. There’s just too much secrecy about it.

I know of a guy who’s been in a couple of shows. He maintained fervently for a long time that he was clean, then admitted he was using. When I first knew him, I was bigger than he was. He quickly overtook me and now is a beast. For the longest time I was thinking how much I sucked at this, that I should be able to do as well as he was if I would just get my shit together. Now I know I was comparing apples to oranges.

I’d just like to see clearly what I can look like buying all my “supplements” in the meat and produce section of Wal-mart, and how that would change if I “knew a guy”, just so I could know what’s realistic for me. I feel like an idiot for aspiring to look like Ahnold when he was on things that I can neither afford (personally or financially) nor have access to.

His forearms looked Photoshopped or they are tumors. He is beast.

This post is incredibly honest and insightful on the fitness/bodybuilding/supplement industry as a whole. We all at one point have fallen victim is the now apparent blatant deception that is at the core of the entire industry .

I agree to a point. Looking back, I always knew what was realistic for myself. I’ll personally most likely never be 200+lbs at 10% lifting unassisted, and even 190 seems like a stretch (I’m 176cm/5’9’'). As long as we know not to strive for unrealistic gains, working out with physique in mind can still be a very rewarding and worthwhile endeavor.

X2

But the odd thing is, we’ve all aspired to and fantasized about looking like superheroes since childhood. As adults we continue to admire that ideal, and when we realize a man can actually LOOK like that, whether he uses or not, it’s still an incredibly motivational and inspirational image, nonetheless.

I did the V-Diet a few years ago, before I bought a house and had my second kid. In fact, I haven’t bought anything since 2010. I could if I were still borrowing the in-law’s house w/ my wife rent free, yeah.

That’s because you were probably the one getting picked on by boys that were. Hence the whole passive aggressive thing.

Not really an ‘lol’ thing because it’s more sad than anything else.

You are really doing a shitty job to get me. But you are persistent, I give you that.

Nah, I was more the one doing the bullying and I think I established in another thread that many posters on TN were bully victims. Probably explains the superhero stuff.

ps: Btw, my original comment wasn’t meant to be negative. Don’t know why ID took it that way.

not to get too all up in this but the kids like me that were small, pudgy, and weak were the ones aspiring to be superheroes. The bullies already had the physical dominance over the smaller kids and so for the most part thought comic books were stupid.
