Nationals: Cedric McMillan WOW

Fuck me those are some big arms.

Nice thread, elusive, good to see the future of bodybuilding come through. But geez, trey brewer, lee banks and steve kuclo’s abs all disappear in their front double bis. any reasons? conditioning, lack of hypertrophied abs, i know you meant to have a small waist but they just disappear in that shot. surely u can do heavy ab work and make them pop through.

another thought, i would have at least thought brewer would have had larger abs, and a better chest from his powerlifting days. his legs also seem to have gotten smaller. or the ratio from upper to lower has gotten bigger.

comments?

McMillan definitely deserved the overall. he looked awesome. Heres a pic of Nathan Detracy that same night. the guy lookedgreat to.

Jeff Long has high lats but those legs are nuts. Look a bit like Wheeler in 93

Those legs are nuts indeed. I had only seen the guy in the offseason and thought he looked too thick or blocky (is that a word?) but his physique flow well on stage

Theres two ways to hit that pose. One is with flexing your abs, one is without. Its a personal preference thing. Back in the day, they didn’t flex their abs and sometimes hit a vacuum in the front double bi. For example heres Dennis James hitting a front double bi with his abs flexed.

Here he is hitting the same pose but without flexing his abs.

He did look great as did all the weight class winners.

He looked really good. He was the thickest guy in the show and his arms are supposedly 24". Thats just not right… lol. He just happen to run into exceptional competition in the form of Cedric McMillan. He’ll be in the right show at the right time one day and win his pro status.

I don’t see how anyone could possibly predict any other outcome than cedric winning his class and overall. None of the “guru’s” had him definitely winning his class let alone the overall which I found ridiculous. The guy is a perfectly proportioned monster, props to him.
I didn’t understand this either. Lonnie Teper (whos opinion should be held high in bodybuilding), Dave Palumbo and John Romano all had either Seth Feroce or Al Auguste (both LHWs) winning the overall. They were all not that impressed with Cedric either. I agree with you. I can’t see how a 260lbs guy shaped like he is with his proportions and condition is not the clear favorite. No disrespect to the other winners like Feroce or Long, because they were amazing.

All these guys are insane. VERY impressive!.. Robert Burneika’s biceps are crazy. shit they appear to be the same size as my fuckin head.

On a side note, how bout a round of applause for Jessica Anderson for winning the Bikini Class overall. HEYNOW

OK, I know it’s a common story when you hear about someone dieting away too much muscle ie Kuclo), but does it seem like Trey’s chest shrank disproportionately with everything else? Maybe just in the double bi shot?

Yah, that’s what I was referring too. It also seemed like John Romano had no idea what he was talking about, like at all…

Maybe, but I think he just has terrible shape above the waist and that’s always going to cause him trouble.

I’m not sure whats up with Trey’s chest. Somethings definitely off.

He’s shoulder dominant and hasn’t figured how to get his chest up to par. He has plenty of time to experiment and figure it out.

These aren’t my comparison shots, I found them on another forum. I actually thought that Trey Brewer came into this show looking his best to date, but now that I’ve seen these I can’t say that for sure. I think he may have looked better in '06?! These shots are from the '06 Excalibur.

You can see in the front double Bi that his legs were clearly bigger. His back seemed thicker too, but not as detailed.

wow, his legs look MUCH smaller.
waylanderxx wrote:

Yeah, I think thats because he doesn’t train them as much now to “balance” out his physique. I don’t agree with that. I feel that his wheels are his signature and he needs them to do well even if they over power, because lets face it… he doesn’t have anything else spectacular going on for him. He could be a modern day Tom Platz of the sort, over powering lower body thats his trademark.

EDIT: the '06 photos are on the left. I didn’t specify previously.

This is over a year ago. Maybe over 2 years ago.

Pure speculation: I think he may put on too much fat in the offseason and cant see what’s going on with his physique. Although the pictures of him guest posing show that his chest is still small compared to the rest of his body so obviously that’s not the only issue.
