Nate Green - ‘I?m a Recovering Fitness Junkie’
Or at least he doesn’t workout in the traditional, weightlifting sense anymore.
Good read from a former contributor.

Kind of interesting. Everyone needs some balance.
I didn’t like his articles. They should have just titled them “Nate Green paraphrases some shit Dave Tate wrote last year” etc. I’d rather just read something from Dave Tate himself. Granted, I stopped reading his articles all together after a few of those, so he may have gotten better for all I know.
Good luck to him whatever he’s doing.
On second thought, fuck him and anybody who uses the term fitness junkie. The human body was built for hard work. My Grandfather sharecropped tobacco, was a blacksmith, and worked 40+ hours a week at the Foundry. And apparently he was so bored he put up a chin-up bar in his yard so he could do chins and skin-the-cat. The man lived to be 94 and grew some awesome tomatoes.

Did you even read the link and what the fuck does your grandfather have to do with anything?
I thought it was pretty refreshing and honest.

You need to actually read the article before you complain about things.
Otherwise you look like an idiot.

Yeah I read it, and if my grandfather could do 80+ fucking hours of fucking manual labor a fucking week and still find time for fucking exercise I find it pathetic that anyone would call 5 fucking trips to gym a week a fucking addiction.

I did read it, but the title is more than enough to tell you what it’s about.

Sure, and you’re an idiot if you don’t realize that your ancestors worked from sun up to sun down 7 days a week for thousands of generations, or you wouldn’t be here. That 's what you evolved to do. Sitting in front of a TV and/or computer screen all day ain’t cutting it.

LOL
Dude, it’s just an article about how a guy who used to obsess over the gym now treats it more like recreation. It’s not an insult to your superhero grandad or anyone’s ancestors. There’s no mention of evolution or ancestry or any of the things your psychotic diatribe is babbling about.
Take a deep breath, and relax. Maybe go outside for a while, it’s a beautiful day.
Whatever you do, do something to help yourself chill out. If a blog post can rustle your jimmies this heavily then you really need to calm down a tad.
and by the way, I piss on your grandad’s tomatoes

Pfft, you think I’m worried about your piss? Have you ever seen the bugs and other shit that crawl around on tomatoes while they’re growing?
Second, thanks for telling me to calm down! As if I can’t type a few four letter words on the internet without running my blood pressure up. That’s a wonderful bit of internet argument ju-jitsu you pulled there.

You’re welcome. I didn’t realise there was any sort of argument going on, but ok.

This I need to address as my point flew waaay over your head. My grandfather wasn’t a superhero, he was really pretty average. If he could handle 80+ hours of physical work a week, how can 5 trips to the gym be too much for anyone?
lol

Us Scot’s don’t glorify hard work - we just do it ;).
Eh, Most young people that get into something as encompassing as fitness walk the line of it being the central focus or even defining trait in their life. I think this can be especially true when they experience some recognition from their efforts. Nate did his best to be known as a fitness author for years, and his love of living the lifestyle was pretty evident.
As he got a bit older, he probably settled more into a balanced lifestyle, until eventually his main drive was more about being a lifetsyle coach (a term I see all over the internet these days), and less about being known as a hardcore training guy. Certainly not a bad thing, as we all should hope to come to a healthy balance between our loves and our obligations.
While I can see how being any type of “junkie” can sound like a negative description to some people, for Nate, perhaps it became a negative in that HE couldn’t balance everything else in his life. If he wants to admit that, that’s fine. Personally I know plenty of people that manage their gym schedules with work and family, and would never describe their comittment and genuine enjoyment in negative terms simply because it enriches their lives, not takes away from it.
It;'s a personal thing I suppose.
